So I took an adderall to do some homework and finished in 15 min, so now I'm feeling like doing something time consuming, if you think this is a waste of time you are probably right. Anyway, these are the players I would want on my team to win a Superbowl THIS YEAR.
Quarteback: 1. P. Manning 2. D. McNabb 3. T. Brady 4. C. Palmer 5. M. Bulger 6. D. Carr 7. R. Grossman 8. D. Brees 9. P. Rivers 10. M. Hasselbeck
Honorable Mention: M. Vick (needs to pass better), J. Delhomme (retarded), D. Bledsoe (immobile), E. Manning
Running Back (these are difficult to rank, many are a product of O-Line): 1. L. Tomlinson 2. C. Portis 3. T. Barber 4. S. Alexander 5. W. Dunn 6. L. Johnson 7. D. Davis 8. D. McAlister 9. S. Jackson 10. M. Turner (yes I do think this backup is a top 10 RB)
Honorable Mention: D. Foster (can he stay healthy?), T. Bell, Brian Westbrook(tough yards?), F. Gore (fumblitis), E. James (good without Manning?)
Wide Receiver: 1. S. Smith 2. T. Holt 3. C. Johnson 4. T. Owens 5. M. Harrison 6. L. Fitzgerald 7. S. Moss 8. A. Boldin 9. L. Coles 10. R. Wayne
Honorable Mention: K. Johnson, B. Edwards, R. Williams, D. Stallworth, S Jackson
Tight End: 1. A. Gates 2. A. Crumpler 3. J. Shockey 4. T. Gonzales 5. T. Heap
Honorable Mention: J. Witten, H. Miller
Fullback: 1. L. Neal 2. M. Alstott 3. M. Strong 4. F. Beasly 5. C. Cooley
(I admit I don't know much about FB's)
Kickers (also hard to judge, depends on where the offense puts you): 1. A. Vinitieri 2. N. Rackers 3. J. Kasay 4. D. Akers 5. J. Carney
Defensive End: 1. J. Peppers 2. M. Strahan 3. J. Abraham 4. D. Freeney 5. J. Kearse
Linebacker: 1. R. Lewis 2. B. Urlacher 3. J. Porter 4. S. Merriman 5. Z. Thomas
Honorable Mention: Dan Morgan, the only person on my list negatively affected by injury. He would be in the top 5 if he could stay healthy.
Safety: 1. E. Reed 2. T. Polamalu 3. A. Wilson 4. B. Dawkins 5. J. Lynch
Corners: 1. C. Bailey 2. D. Hall 3. R. Barber 4. K. Lucas 5. C. McAlister
I don't know enough about D tackles, Punters, or O-linemen to rank them.
Well, that was a fun 45 minutes, I love adderall.

Not a bad list, but a few definetly don't seem right.
Brady should be over McNabb. Grossman at least over Carr. Urlacher & Merriman are better than Ray Lewis (he's just too old to still be that high). Ken Lucas the 4th CB? He's not even the best CB on the Panthers & has been terrible this year. 10/10/2006 3:43:42 PM |

McNabb has always been better than Brady, except last year when he was hurt. Brady has had a better team and perhaps you could say he is more "clutch," but I would still rather have McNabb on my team.
You MAY have a point with Urlacher (I don't agree), but I would still rather have Ray easily than Merriman, Merriman plays with skill and passion, but Lewis plays with skill, passions, AND intellegence. Ray would never have allowed Heap to score that last touchdown in the Ravens/Chargers game.
Lucas you might be right, I'm a bit of a Panthers homer, but I think he is more dependable of a corner than Gamble.
BTW, I screwed up the WR's. It should read:
Quote : | " Wide Receiver: 1. S. Smith 2. T. Holt 3. R. Moss 4. C. Johnson 5. T. Owens 6. M. Harrison 7. L. Fitzgerald 8. S. Moss 9. A. Boldin 10. L. Coles

This list is a little misconstrued, D.Davis as a runningback along with Michael Turner---There are far better running backs out there so try Rudi Johnson, Willie Parker. I believe both of them have far better numbers than 4 of your top 5, and both are team players. 10/10/2006 4:36:42 PM |

They haven't had as many chances because they can't carry a team to the playoffs like Manning can.
Choking in the playoffs is a ligitimate argument, but you can't say they are worse than players who aren't good enough in the regular season to MAKE the playoffs.10/10/2006 4:42:49 PM |

not being a homer at all, totally objective. Once again, Peyton has had a good defense for 1.3 years, Brady has had one every year until last year (when they werent that great) and this year (when they are so so). You give Manning the defense that Brady had for 4 previous years, and I have no doubt he would have won at least one super bowl.
