^^ I don't know about that, but the hundreds of thousands of people he ordered tortured and killed will get some form of justice.

Saddam was not directly involved in 9-11.
That being said....Saddam and his state did harbor and support terrorist.
(We are at war against terrorism. Al-Queda is not the only terrorist group on the planet.)
He also committed genicide.
The NY Times..in their release of documents to try and hurt the GOP this weekend..screwed up and admitted that Iraq did have a weapons program not too far from a bomb.
If Saddam had a bomb, you know that it would have only been a matter of time before he gave one to a terrorist group to explode in the US.

All I want to hear now is.. AGGGGGGGGGGGGGG(Gurgling and swinging)

There is no limit to how long the appeals process can take.

The appeals process was likely to take three to four weeks once the formal paperwork was submitted, a court official told The Associated Press.

If the Appellate Chamber upholds the conviction and sentence, Hussein must be executed within 30 days

Look, I increasingly have a lot of problems with the administration and certainly the war, but I don't think I could be convinced that this is bad news at all. Sic semper tyrannis.

I seriously doubt that anyone had any expectation that a guilty verdict two days before election is going to make any real difference, especially given the current public mood. If so, then Karl Rove has REALLY lost his edge.

And this isn't unexpected. They announced last week that the trial verdict would be this week.

I would feel good about this if it would change something in Iraq now, like order. The son of a b**** deserves it, and instead of giving him a fixed trial they should've just killed him and dragged him through the streets once he was captured, but Saddam dying is going to do what exactly?

It won't change anything, so it's hard for me to care otherwise. I wouldn't be surprised if Saddam is killed before his scheduled execution day by Shiite militants aiming to get even more in good graces with the Shiite community by saying they brought the man to justice.

Saddam is Tito and the current Iraq is the former Yugoslavia.

Torture is immoral. I hate the way Americans treat rape as reasonable additional punishment for incarcerated criminals.

With the right media campaign, this could be a good thing for Iraq.

Some article I read had some Iraqi stating it could calm things down, because no one will be under the illusion that Saddam can come back, if he's dead, and life in prison couldn't serve this goal (because he could be sprung out by some clever, hollywood-stlye heist). I do think at this current point in time, he execution is the best possible move.

personal politics aside, these kids died doing their job they had to do and you should have at least some measure of respect

but I'm sure it got your partisan rocks off to post that

but then again, we all know who you are... you and all of your aliases should be terminated
