'89 K1500 4wd 5.7L 350ci V8 engine.
198K miles on vehicle.
Engine and Tranny were replaced with new units @ 135K.
Everything else on truck has been replaced since then.
4.10 gears.
3 in. body lift/1.5 in. suspension lift
Runs and drives surprisingly well.

not to hijack your thread, but my dad's got an 88 GMC 1500 that is in need of some rebuilding... are these pretty similar when it comes to under the hood? I know he cares about that truck a lot, it was his dad's. It's got 282K on it, last I remember, probably a 5.0 V8. It's an awesome truck, so props on yours. Very nice!

yes.

yeah. actually i guess i can't even call it a suspension lift since the only thing i did was add 1" blocks in the rear and cranked the torsion bars to add 1.5" in the front to level it out.

its a goodwrench 350. not a high output GMPP crate motor or anything.

speedometer has not been corrected but i do have instructions on how to do it from a $2 radio shack part. it is off by 15mph @ 70mph.

the door hinge pins were replaced when i had the truck painted (yes, the jambs are painted also) but i found the lower driver's side has since popped which does make shutting the door more difficult if the window isn't cracked or down.

as for gas mileage, it used to get ~12 city before i regeared it but it has since gone up to ~14-15. i have no idea about highway mileage since that is what the wife's car is for. hey joel, one good thing is you know i regeared it because you got the old gears!
