If you want to debate whether or not NASCAR is a sport then do it in this thread. The season is about to start and I'm not going to watch every single thread get trolled into this debate. The NASCAR fans deserve to enjoy ST just as much as anyone else. If you bring it up in a NASCAR thread your post will likely be edited or deleted.

SOME of the guys are obviously in great shape (Michael Waltrip, Carl Edwards) but you dont need to be in any sort of physical condition to be a great driver. Unless you consider the ability to lose large amounts of water without passing out an athletic feat, but I dont think it is.

unfortunately, nascar racing is a sport since racing in general is a sport. f1 drivers have to be pretty athletic to be able to withstand 5-6 lateral g's for 7 seconds while driving at 200 mph with others very close to you, and to do it 58 times in less than 2 hours. you gotta be in top physical and mental shape to do that.
