Ok i turned on my computer one day and it said i had some kind of error when it booted up, and when i logged in to my username all my files were gone.......it was as if i just got a new computer with just the basic icons. I have 2 other usernames on my computer and all of there files were still there as if nothing happened.

I was wondering if there was any way to retrieve the old info and files from my username b/c i dont know anything a/b computers and have no idea what to do?

do you mean just the files on your desktop and in your my documents folder?

open windows explorer - navigate to C:\Documents and Settings - they are in there somewhere

no i mean everything was gone.............every game, ever program everything, every file, picture saved, everything. I had like 20 icons on my desktop and when i logged in that one time i had like 5 (the basic ones u always have when u first buy a computer). It was like everything on my computer was erased and cleared off for just my username, while the other 2 usernames info, files, and programs were not erased.

^ like ^^ said. You are probably on a different user account. They are probably still there.

Go to C:/Documents and Settings/

And look for the user names there. If you see other user names there chances are you are logging in as a different user.

aight yeah man i tried that and i did fmy files so they arent deleted.......


Do u know how i can load that user account back up though.......It's named "Brandon" which is what mine is named now
