Why did you post a thread on a message board if you don't care about anyone's responses? Isn't that sort of the point?

Iggy Pop singing this sounds a little like Johnny Cash to me. perhaps it is a combination of my insanity and my not hearing old iggy's voice lately.

video/song sucked

no catchy chorus (and thats about the only thing this kind of music might have going for it).

and there was no difference between the verses, or chorus, or bridge except for basically the volume of the drums. other than that it was about the exact same combination of chords in the same tempo for the entire song....with scratchy terrible vocals on top of it.

Are you on crack? The chorus is precisely what is "catchy" about the song--it has a good hook. And the vocals are somewhat reminiscent of Dale Bozzio of Missing Persons, which was before your time.

as an avid music fan, hardly anything is 'before my time'. sure its harder to hear about stuff to an extent but especially with the internet, its not like you dont hear about stuff. i didnt like missing persons. closest i ever got was duran duran i suppose.

but yea, the chorus was supposed to be catchy but failed miserably imo. lemme reiterate. the chorus was atrocious. she cant even pronounce the words, sounds like the next cigarette she has is gonna put her in the grave and there is not one catchy thing about it. and 2 drummers to play that? lol

but hey im picky, and i know whatever i say wont change your mind, and if you like you like it. just not for me at all

The actual album version of "Punkrocker" is good, but that cunt they cart around with them to shows is worthless.

I'm on the verge of locking this shit just for being so fucking retarded and/or old.

This ridiculous comparison proves that you don't know what the hell you're talking about. The bands were and are very different--despite the fact that guitarist Warren Cuccurullo played with Duran Duran for a number of years.

For example, Missing Persons included one of the greatest drummers who ever lived, Terry Bozzio, and he is still very active today.

http://www.terrybozzio.com/

Here are just a few examples of Missing Persons' music:

"Destination Unknown"

http://youtube.com/watch?v=XbHexmNvwYY&mode=related&search=

"Words"

http://youtube.com/watch?v=P6CunFiE0Cs&mode=related&search=

"Walking in L.A."

http://youtube.com/watch?v=KpQyhu29QSY

^^^ That "cunt," as you put it, is Aimee Echo, spöokyjon. And Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dave Navarro, Coal Chamber, and Papa Roach among others disagree with you about her--she has made guest appearances on albums for all of them. And here's Shirley Manson of Garbage calling Echo out on stage and a bonus video of Echo with The Start, respectively:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=oONGHZSHcBU

http://youtube.com/watch?v=J-K64wVAn5U

BTW, as a mod, it's your prerogative to lock whatever you damn well choose, spöokyjon. But don't threaten me with a thread lock--if you want to lock it, fucking lock it.

first off i never said anything about their skills as musicians. Not liking a band IS NOT always the same thing as someone saying they are bad musicians...there are tons of people out there that dislike dream theater, but admit they are great musicians. no need to try and prove to me that hes a good drummer when i already know he is, but missing persons didnt make music that I enjoyed enough to listen to. (i didnt even say the band made bad music, just not something id really get into)

and yes i know they are very different. thats why i said 'the closest i got i suppose' as in not very close.

The song sounded like typical indie music. Minimalistic, boring, whatever. Were there more than 3 chords in the entire song?

The singer's voice was okay, but she has no depth.

Overall, I give it a 3/10.

^^ I have been unable to confirm this position with the Polish Consulate.

^ Sarcasm noted. I DVR several late-night talk shows and listen to their musical guests at my leisure--in addition to many other sources of new music--what of it? You should try it instead of knocking it.

Well, that was an utter waste of time.

That was pure shit-- if you're going to get a chance to play on national television, why do a cover of a song that you can't even do well. Ugggg.

That made me throw up in my mouth.

Holy crap this song sucks.

But spöokyjon is right. The studio version is alright, since it doesn't feature the chick.
