actually im kinda debating if i want to do grappling or striking arts

because i plan on coming into work everyday, so sub-grappling might make that hard

but at the same time i like my pretty, clean face

I love training BJJ at Alliance in Charlotte. I don't know if there's an Alliance school up in the triangle, though.

Shit is expensive, though.

I've already decided that I'm moving to Albuquerque in a year or two, when I do I'm going to train at Jackson's Academy (part time obviously, I'm not going to try to start a pro career) at age 29 or 30. I actually went to Crossfit up off of Capital Blvd. to check it out and frankly I didn't get a particularly good vibe from the place when I watched a BJJ class.

While not cheap the programs at crossfit are very good. with that cost you'll have access to stuff that comes straight down the pipe from royce etc. It's a very professionally run gym and the owner is a friend.

It's been said, but, seriously, Crossfit is the best you'll find around here. If you sign their longest contract, it gets it down to $100 a month, but that's for either Brazilian Jujitsu or Muay Thai (my favorite) with equipment and gym access. The instructor is awesome, they go to lots of competitions, and they also coordinate with a lot of the other local gyms. Like, the BJJ class has no problem bugging the local judo guys if they need someone better at throwing. That kind of thing.
Jason is a really good BJJ instructor, and Mike and Anne do a FANTASTIC job at the Muay Thai class. Seriously, that's where you'll find the most quality instruction around here.
