No suspects known as of the most recent police press conference. A friend of mine who works w/ CHPD says they assume it was a random carjacking and once they find Eve's Toyota Highlander they'll have an idea of who was/is responsible.

TWW will probably find out sooner than I will though

Car was found near Franklin street? That's sketchy. I guess it could be that the thief didn't realize they were dealing with someone who would get so much media coverage and ditched the car due to the pressure, but...I wonder if there's more to it.

I imagine they originally took it and then had an epiphany that people would be looking for the Highlander and decided to get rid of it in Chapel Hill so no one could know where they went.

I think she introduced Jim Neal at the event on campus that got me started first volunteering with and then interning with the campaign. Seemed very outgoing and upbeat and a good speaker.

The singing at the vigil was pretty I thought. Its all very sad. It was covered by the local 1360 AM station and random people from around town, the grocer at food lion, people at work, it seems like everyones talking about this.

I had to work inside the NC HILLEL today at UNC (student center for Jewish students). When we arrived word was quickly spreading over the identity of the slain student. The center quickly set up a Memorial Center and had a meeting so staff and students could light a candle and discuss the murder. I saw faculty that was as shaken as the students as we heard the continuous buzz of the news choppers just a few blocks over overing the afternoon and night vigils.

It's a toyota highlander and at this point it's probably just a stall tactic to decline to say whether it's her car or not.

I know they say they are working it like a a random act of violence but I dunno....something about that bothers me. Its one thing to steal a car but its another thing to shoot someone multiple times including one to the head. Thats hardcore. Part of me thinks its someone she knew.
