A collection of mirror related cliches:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tjoqhx_dwk

Most of them are the standard "look in the bathroom mirror and everything's fine, then close it/look in it again and something is behind you"

Man/woman has a romantic moment with a past lover that he/she divorced or broke up with, usually in one of the final scenes, and says "Do you think people can change?"

I watched 2012 on Tuesday, and it was chock full of clichés.

A person yelling at their opponent exactly what their injury is just so the audience knows.

IE: "YOU BROKE MY NOSE!!!"

when people that dont know a language try to speak it, but actually say something that is way off which is translated by subtitle

like instead of "HOW ARE YOU TODAY?"

they say "I WANT TO MAKE LOVE TO YOUR UNCLE"

People answering the phone by saying "SPEAK" in place of "HELLO?"

I see this a lot in 80s movies, but remember Johnny Sac on Sopranos doing it after he became don. I guess they wanted to show how much more important his time was at that point.

Just watched Mystic River...How about when the movie leads you to believe character A is insane and that he killed Character B, only to reveal at the end of the movie that character A did something we might see as noble or heroic and that Character W, who was hardly even been in the movie, actually killed character B.

And, the line, "Admit it and I'll give you your life!," or something along those lines.

I like Clint Eastwood a lot and I liked that movie, but am i the only one who is always completely turned off by Sean Penn's utterly unbridled exaggeration? He chews scenery up like few others. He's a good actor, but it's completely obnoxious at times.

In Uncle Buck, when John Candy goes to teh party and drills though the doorknob to catch Bug and Tia...

He kicks the door open and it hit the dresser, bounces a few inches, then slams back into the dresser. Like it was attached to a spring. I guess I'm saying when someone kicks a door open and it sticks open unnaturally.

Also, in the Uncle Buck scene, if you look a the bottom left corner, you can see a hand grab the bottom of the door to hold it open after it bounces back. Not a cliche, but it's like the first time I caught one of those on my own.

Cutting to a scene where everyone is laughing like a joke was just told. This is generally done to show that everyone is having a good time or getting along, but always makes me frown at the lazy writing.

Penn is a good actor, but he can be annoying as hell. I really just don't like him in general. Uppity, self righteous asshole.

This one might have been said already - but when someone is reaching for something and something bad is about to happen, and they are obviously very far away from the item, then at the last second they manage to somehow grab it.

Kids in movies.

Take that girl from Jurassic Park in the scene where they are right outside the T-Rex cage, and that thing had just gotten out. She's faced with several options:

A) Be still and silent and wait for it to leave the area.
B) Sit on the floor of the Explorer, and try and hide from view of the outside windows.
C) Shine a fucking light in the dinosaur's eye.

GUESS WHICH ONE SHE CHOSE!

Every kid in every movie ever made, including that Osment douchebag has a propensity for doing something extra idiotic that immediately makes you wish they'd be killed in some fashion in the next frame.

A character is running away from a very fast threat, like a car, or a velociraptor, or a tidal wave, and they are somehow able to stay ahead of it for far longer than humanly possible.

I'm sure it's been said already, but I really hate the scene where it is all quiet and a dude is just standing on the curb and then all of a sudden, a truck comes into frame and crushes the guy with a loud horn blast.

Casually discarding something by throwing it off screen and hearing glass break or someone yell "OWW!"

It may have been funny the first time but it's been beaten into the ground at this point.

Sequels where the hero suddenly has a brand new vital skill that was never mentioned before and doesn't quite make sense.

examples: Rambo II and Die Hard 4 they can suddenly fly helicopters
Lethal Weapon II Riggs can suddenly pop his shoulder out on demand
