i've got a round 2 interview with a company today and i'm pretty sure they will offer me the job, but i'm not sure if i want it. it's a good salary, a small but stable company but they use relatively ancient technology. they built a framework before .net came out and b/c they put so much into it, they've continued to use it. and i guess it works cus they're making lots of money and getting new clients so i can't blame them for sticking with it. but it sounds boring as hell. basically doing lots of SQL and XSLT with some html and javascript thrown in. i should find out more about the technology itself this afternoon

i also had an interview with a different company this morning. again a small but growing company but they are using WPF which I have more experience in and really like working with. the interview went very well and i think they're interested, but they haven't come nearly as close to making me an offer as company A.

if company A offers me a job today and company B offers me a job next week, i'd feel like a douche if i already accepted the A but end up bailing on them to take the B job. if A offers me the job today, what's the best way to say "give me a few days to see if another company i like more offers me a job"

"I need some time to evaluate my options. By what date do you require me to commit to this job?"

Done.

As an aside, I went from working at a company using Microsoft CRM for case management to a company that uses a homebrew AS/400 system. I never knew I could hit F18 on my keyboard.

The Systems Admin in the IT dept. I work for is leaving so I need some help. It is a full time gig for a civil engineering firm in Cary with about 150 users including remote sites in Wilmington and Supply. It is a Windows only domain. Experience with Cisco switching/routing, Exchange 2007 and VMware ESX needed. I'm not sure what the pay is but I'm sure it would depend on experience. Full benefits are provided, life/health/dental insurance, 401k etc. Submit resumes to cerickson@withersravenel.com. Any other questions just ask.

Show me who I attacked in this thread? I realize that at some point in the past year, without saying one god damn negative thing towards you, you developed a general disdain for me, its cool. But you need to put the brakes on that shit when it causes you to post shit that just doesn't make sense.

I have more control over "it" than you have the ability to not follow me around the website making comments about me anytime I post or am mentioned.

Amateur gardener is a bit redundant. If they weren't amateurs, they'd be called farmers. They don't really factor into the software vs hardware guy war T Bag.
