I was always a sucker for Myst and the Journeyman Project series, and now I've stumbled upon the genre of internet Flash based point-and-click adventure games. Anyone else into this stuff? The Submachine series is outstanding.

Deeper question: is this a valid/worthwhile storytelling mechanism? It has caused me to begin learning Flash - I'm interested in designing my own.

There's a professor in the English dept. who's writing a book about that - it's actually interesting to hear about.

Crimson Room is terrible. Not even worth the time to navigate to the page, IMO.

Try "Room of Time and Space" (URL has "rotas" in it or something).

The most recent game design competition at jayisgames.com is now in the judging phase:

http://jayisgames.com/cgdc10/

My entry is The Freewill Cycle Volume 2:

If you are into this genre, I'd appreciate a play-through and then a vote (use the mushroom icons...of course I want a 5 but rate whatever you feel is appropriate).

(If you want to flame it here too that's fine, I self-taught Flash and 3ds Max for this project so I'm sure it has some amateur-ish flares to it.)
