"STATUS 3: Classes are canceled until 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January
20, 2009; the University is open but operating under adverse
weather advisory.

Provost Larry A. Nielsen, in consultation with Chancellor James L.
Oblinger and Vice Chancellor of Finance and Business Charles Leffler,
announced the decision after university officials reviewed the latest
National Weather Service forecast and local driving conditions.

When the university is closed or opens late, no students, faculty
members, or staff members are expected to be on campus except for
students who reside in campus housing;
employees who have been issued
advance written instructions on a standing basis by the appropriate
department head requiring that they report to work on their regular
schedule even if the university is closed; or any other employee who is
notified by an appropriate supervisor on a situation-specific basis to
report to work during a closing. (Employees are responsible for ensuring
they can be reached via valid contact information.)

Regular employees whose presence is not required (non-essential) will
not be docked - nor will they be required to make up the work time or
report their time as annual or other accrued leave - when the university
officially closes or opens late. Regular, leave-earning, SPA and EPA
employees who are required to work (essential) are granted equivalent
alternate paid time off on an hour-for-hour basis.

Individuals who are not required to report are encouraged to stay away
from campus to help facilitate the efficient clearing of streets,
sidewalks and parking lots.
Any individual who needs to work on
authorized activities - and who can reach the campus safely - may report
to work with supervisory permission.

Students who miss scheduled activities will be allowed to make up any
work missed.
Faculty members should make arrangements to complete all
interrupted activities. Scheduled events will be held only by explicit
exception granted by the vice chancellor for finance and business.

Additional announcements concerning class and work schedules will be
posted on the NC State home page, on the emergency call-in line at 513-
8888, and announced via local media outlets. The adverse weather
regulation is online at http://www.ncsu.edu/policies/campus_environ/hea-
lth_safety_welfare/REG04.20.7.php"

Just thought this would be interesting for you people who don't live on campus. We don't really have to go to school tomorrow based upon this...
