Never been to either of those. I heard that Thai Villa (next to Grand Asia Market) and Thai Cafe in Durham are the best. thoughts, concerns?

I haven't enough experience to tell you what the best is, but I've been to Sawasdee, Thai House, and Thai Villa, and they all seemed quite good to me.

The added bonus of Sushi Thai is the cheap and delicious sushi

The new Thaiphoon Bistro in Glenwood South is fantastic. I haven't eaten at enough places in the area to claim it the best, though, but it's one of my 10 maybe even 5 favorite restaurants in Raleigh.

There is a new place off Harrison avenue near SAS called YumYum. Don't waste your money, Sushi Thai has better leftovers than their entrees.

Thai Villa

Fuck Sushi Thai

----

Not strictly Thai, but Tangerine Cafe is pretty good. Stay away from Thai Spices and Sushi

Sushi Thai and Taste of Thai are pretty good too. I think of the ones I listed, my favorite would be Thai House or Thai Villa. (Based on a small sample size--only eaten at each of the places a couple of times)

Really? I went there late last year, and while the food was good, it seemed overpriced, and the decor/theme seemed to be trying a little too hard to be cool. Also the service sucked (I only saw 3 staff total--one busser who was also doing water/drink refills, one waitress, and the hostess was covering the bar as well). Granted, it was a late weeknight and wasn't super busy, but it took forever just to get our drinks out.

I've only been to Sushi Thai, and that was great. I don't live far from Taste of Thai, so I might try that out in the future. So, I'll say Sushi Thai. I went to the one in Raleigh off Wycliff Road.

^ I think that was the one in Raleigh. The Raleigh one is but the Cary one is I have a hard time believing they're even owned by the same people lol.

Every Thai place I have been to have all tasted identical. Scranton, Raleigh, DC. I only get Pad Thai or drunken noodles though.

^^ That would be why it all tastes the same. You'd have to be a complete moron to make pad thai incorrectly.

Thai Palace on 54 just off UNC's campus is fantastic. They've been there for like 20 years for good reason.

The Thai selections I've had from Sushi Nine are pretty serviceable for Thai food near campus.
