it started out as a reaction to one of her vaccines....

it eventually got bigger and bigger and started to eat at her muscle so they cut it out and stitched the ends together.

i'm sure everything will be fine.

her leg is really tight and she politely "asks" to be picked up and taken down any stairs.

she was also spayed so she has a big scar on her belly too.

i'm gonna keep track of her progress via pictures and bump the thread.

It's starting to heal pretty well. But it's bruising pretty bad.

she's fairing pretty well with the cone. i cannot wait to get it off of her though.

everything healed really well.

unfortunately she has to stay in her cone for a little longer (i was hoping that today we could take it off-she really doesn't like it-but only the stitches came out)

but soon she will be free...and when that comes i'm cutting her face hair short and washing her!! (her face stinks b/c of the moisture!)

by the way: i found out it was a reaction to her distemper vaccine-she already has immunity so by giving her the vaccine it somehow agitated something and caused a nasty reaction....

no ma'am we took it off on sunday

shes still biting a bit on the bottom part of it, but not enough to warrant putting the cone back on....

yeah yay!!! ;D the day i took off the cone i noticed a little irritation on her chin...after investigating i noticed she had a NASTY rash from her bottom lip all the way down her neck!!! some parts were even bleeding!

im guessing the humidity and her fur and the plastic all together caused one hell of a rash

i sat and bawled cried on the floor for a while-i felt horrible. but carter made sure i was ok (it was really sweet)

so i shaved her chin and neck and applied this ointment to it-you cant really tell by the pictuer but she has a wolverine thing going on with her "beard"

but the rash has since cleared up.

and she is soooo stoked not to have to wear the cone

Well, if the dog made it through all that, you at least know it stands a reasonable chance of survival if dnl comes around.
