I didn't know how much I missed it over the past couple of years until now that I'm back in school at state & eating there again. That is all.

I haven't been to Sylvia's in 3 years since I wasn't living, working, or going to school in Raleigh, and right away he recognized us & started talking about specific facts that had discussed years ago. Can't beat the place for costumer service or friendly atmosphere.

^^I can't believe I agree with her. Amore's is by far the best pizza and people on hillsborough st.

If I'm feeling social, I'll go to Sylvia's. If I don't want to be bothered, I'll go to I ♥ New York Pizza.

I like NY Pizza's white pizza better because they put ricotta on it, like it's supposed to have, whereas Sylvia's doesnt. For everything else, and for friendly service as opposed to unfriendly employees and a dick owner, Sylvia's >>>>>> NY Pizza.

Haven't eaten at Amore's in like 5 years so I will refrain from rating them...and I still believe Pizzamerica doesn't actually serve food, but is instead merely a drug front.

^When I lived at UT, and it was too snowy to drive anywhere but easy to walk across the street, I did eat at Pizzamerica a few times, and it wasn't terrible, but there is no reason they can't do both.

Only place I really liked for pizza on H'Boro was Amore. I'd get my 2 slices and garlic knots w/ a beer whenever I needed a break from the library. Did that often...

Now, I wouldn't ever go to any of those places with Piccolo Italia so close...

Same thing happened to me earlier this year.

Hadn't eaten there since fall 06, came back earlier this year and he remembered me also, even asked about some of the people I used to come in with.

Sylvia's and Amore are equal, both are much better than NY Pizza, I hate that place.

I know right.

Last time I went around Amore's they were closed and emptied out. Did they stay closed or were they just renovating?

I do feel bad for Sylvia's, apparently the construction is hurting their business, hopefully it'll pick up after Hillsborough St is done being revitalized

I haven't been to IHNYP since I saw the owner/manager totally tear down an employee. She was in tears by the end. That was before they expanded the dining room.

absolutely ANY good comments about PizzAmerica would lead to a suspension if I were a moderator

and to me it looks like Sylvia's is struggling a little due to the construction to me

He said business is down & he's having to close early, & people are less likely to eat outside when the construction creating a lot of dust & dirt in the air.
