Before anyone says "take out an add"...I don't think I'm allowed to due to the marketing/HR constraints we have. I don't think starting a thread on a message board crosses any lines though.

What I'm offering:

I have some free spots in my schedule during the week. A lot of them are 30 min. spots and hard as hell to fill (all new members get 3 free hours, so they cannot be booked in those times). I'm opening the spots to friends, past clients, gym members, and now you people in a an attempt to generate more business (NO, you don't have to buy anything and I'm not going to ask...if you're interested great, otherwise just come get a good workout).

I work out of the Lifestyle Family Fitness in Cary, NC (off Walnut street, between Crossroads and Cary Towne Center). If anyone is interested you can post her or PM me. I'll try to put up available times later if enough people respond.

In case anyone is interested, I've been training there for 2.5 years, have a BLS in Biology and minor in health promotion, ACE-CPT, and am currently studying for the NSCA-CSCS (certified strength and conditioning specialist). I do a wide-array of training (based on the individual) and flexibility/postural assessments/stretching if you're interested in that

and away we go.....

take out an ADD

** It's not like you would ever get a hold of anyone even if you requested an ad.

Seriously though, this is pretty cool of you. I'm sure some people can use this. God knows there is enough people on here who want to get in shape but just don't know where to start.

if for nothing else, if anyone wants to make sure they're using correct form on deadlifts/squats/etc. that's fine (let's not get into technical lifts like the OLY lifts though...that can take a lot of time and our gym doesn't have OLY bars/bumper plates/or a full platform yet)

Teach me to deadlift please. And I don't know what a postural assessment involves but I'll take one of those too because mine is not so great.

About to go back in now, so I'll post up what I have available (if you give a time range that might help - also to be completely honest, mornings will probably work best, but I'll see what evening times I can offer)

for those who I end up getting in, there are a few things that are required in order for this to work (if you don't like the requirements then I can't get you in...this is a gym policy, not my own)

1) I'll need your first/last name and phone # (don't worry, nobody is going to call you)
2) when you come in, bring your drivers license or student ID (for liability purposes)
3) You will have to briefly talk to a member of the sales staff (no pressure to join) and will be given a free week to use the gym.

I'm a member of Lifestyle Family Fitness in Winter Park, FL. I'll be in Cary over the holidays. Can I do a free training session then? Or is it pointless since I'm already a member in another state?

Everyone should do this. Mike was really helpful in showing me what I wanted to learn, and he made me a workout schedule to fit the equipment I have available at my gym. I think I may have to switch gyms now though.

^^^Depends on the type of membership you have (is it premier?) Either way I can get you in and give you a good ass-kicking if you want

^Thanks for coming! Glad you enjoyed it.

^^^ I just have a one-club membership, but I may upgrade to passport membership. Premier membership is pointless for me bc I live in Orlando and stay tan year-round.

I'm also a black card member at Planet Fitness, so I have somewhere else to work out when I'm in Raleigh. And I'll probably join eleusis at Gold's Gym. But I could use a good butt-kicking while I'm in town, which is why a trainer sounds like a good plan.

Ah, my error. The messy romantic entanglements I know about are at Lifetime Fitness in Cary, not Lifestyle.
