hickson has played pretty well since getting in the starting lineup...although looking at it, his last game was not so great and most of the minutes went to varejao 12/2/2009 11:56:43 AM |

Hickson made the right move. Lebron is personally mentoring him into being an NBA starter.
Lowe needs to milk this for all it's worth. 12/5/2009 11:42:26 AM |

Hickson Posterizes Dwayne Wade. Video here:
http://www.nba.com/games/20100204/MIACLE/gameinfo.html
Quote : | "Gibson rejoined his teammates in the second quarter, and moments after he came back, James, who was in attack mode from the start, scored on an alley-oop dunk, fed J.J. Hickson for a slam and set up Zydrunas Ilgauskas for a 3 that put the Cavaliers ahead by five.
Wade countered with a 3 and split Cleveland's defense for a dunk as the Heat closed within 56-52 at half.
Hickson posterized Wade with a monster dunk in the first. Hickson hustled to pick up a loose ball near midcourt and then raced down the floor before throwing down a two-hander on Wade, who probably would have been better off if he had let the 6-foot-9 Hickson pass freely.
Wade tried to return the facial in the third, but was rejected at the rim by Hickson." |

the rejection was more embarrassing than the getting dunked on IMO. Not really sure why wade even went up with hickson on that fast break. 2/5/2010 9:37:57 AM |

Hickson is turning into quite a damn fine player
i could see him being in the league for quite a while....and might even get a ring or two depending on if the Cavs want to spend money 2/5/2010 9:55:37 AM |

as an avid Cavs fan, I have been keeping up with JJ pretty close this year. He is looking really really good, Lebron and the coaches love him. He hustles like crazy.
The game last night was the best I've ever seen him play 2/5/2010 10:49:56 AM |

For a while I thought Hickson was going to linger on the bench in the NBA. Still collect paychecks, but not really do much. Probably was expecting too much out of a 1 year player. He's developed quite nicely over the last year and it seems LeBron likes him. Pretty good 2/5/2010 11:47:42 AM |

I watched most of the game last night and was really happy to see JJ have a nice game
He's really good at moving without the basketball to make himself available and his teammates did a good job of finding him last night.
Given time, he could be a beast in the Association 2/5/2010 12:09:51 PM |

Hickson has been playing really well lately. Getting tons of offensive rebounds.
I think he looks like he's exhausted all the time, even early in the fist quarter. I guess it's just how he stands. 4/2/2010 9:40:37 PM |

Ben McCauley has played so well in France that the Lakers and the Magic are showing interest in bringing him to camp next year.
He played with the Lakers summer-league squad last year.

Hickson was a starter for much of the year. He got benched for some reason by one of the worst coaches in the league. He sucks defensively, but he's a terrific offensive player already at ~21 years old. He will be in the league for 12-14 years if he stays healthy for sure.
Simmons had a pretty big season in China, he just couldn't rebound well enough to hack it in the NBA, but he has time to possibly make it back.
CJ and Lorenzo are likely NBA players. Howell I think will be and could potentially even be a rotation player if he continues to develop. Scott Wood COULD be if he fills out any, he's really not built differently than Dunleavy who had some success in the NBA before he got hurt. Too early to make a judgment on Harrow. Tracy I don't think will make it, he seems like NBDL. The problem with Tracy is that despite being a scoring machine in college he's really undersized and he doesn't really have a style of play thats well suited for Europe. I see him emerging as a star in a league somewhere, but perhaps not playing in a highly competitive league.

Well, JJ Hickson will probably get bigger numbers this year at least.
Although he'll be on the top 10 for great alley-oops much less often, with no LBJ to throw it to him. 7/16/2010 8:02:33 PM |

Right, because LBJ is the only Cavs player that could throw alley-oops. Now that he's gone, I guess we won't be seeing anymore of those.
And LBJ is known for not being a great finisher, and often throws alley-oops to his teammates. Rarely does he take on two or more defenders and take highly contested shots.7/19/2010 10:11:00 AM |

Lakers will not win the title this year. Powell's chest bumping during each timeout will be sorely miised and the Laker team chemistry will be destroyed.
Seriously though I hope Powell gets more minutes with the Hawks and does well. I've always thought Powell could put up decent stats if given a chance. 7/23/2010 8:55:07 AM |
