Anyone know where I can buy this? My family used to use it as the last resort for an upset stomach (& for other non-poison-regurgitation purposes). Apparently, stores/the governmnent think we're too stupid to choose when to us it ourselves ni called walgreens & CVS & they said they stopped carrying it ~1 yr ago.

So, anywhere I can find it or some other emetic in the Triangle? Salt water doesn't work for me. Otherwise, if I can buy a bit off someone.

^^ That really doesn't work well for most people. They'll be all gag and no purge. Being bulimic is harder than it seems, but you get better with practice.

Yes H202 does work but make sure you dilute it well. Shouldnt use more than 5% H202 in water. Bad things usually happen when ingesting more than 15-20% in normal humans. Has been known to kill small children when reaching 30%-40%.

the finger to throat method only works for me when i'm already about to puke anyway. i just do it to get it over with so i can get back to drinking. it is referred to as a tactical purge i believe.

If it's one of those "Up to the discretion of the pharmacist" type deals then you usually have to hit up the smaller privately owned drug stores. I was able to find guaifenesin/codeine syrup when I was sick by avoiding CVS/Walgreens altogether. Hell the cash price of their drugs are usually double anyway.

As far as H2O2, anyone know if the off-the-shelf drugstore stuff has additives that make it harmful (like with rubbing alcohol being denatured?) or can I just drink that stuff? If so, how much?

Also, called Ashworths & they don't sell it & don't know where to. Also (of course) advised me against H2O2 but couldn't recommend an alternative.

^^^I did find some info on the Wikipedia page that said it was used as a veterinary emetic. It also had a link in the references for a Southeast Fisheries Science Center (apparently part of NOAA) which said:
"Large oral doses may cause irritation and blistering to the mouth, throat, and abdomen. May also cause abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea."

i.e. dont use more than 5% by volume. If it doesnt work increase it slightly but dont risk going past 10% max.

I dont think H2O2 is mixed when bought on the shelf but i could be wrong.

Not sure why you'd need to vomit to be around your family, but to each his own.

I agree that many non-chain drug stores probably carry it. Check the mom and pop stores around. IDK where you live, but I'm pretty sure the Medicine Shop in Sanford has it (but that's quite a drive away from Raleigh).

^^^My job has a policy where if you puke on-the-job they make you take several days off. I was promised I'd have the week off since I hadn't seen my mother in 7 months, but they scheduled me anyway.

Also, the only Medicine Shop/Shoppe I could find was for Fayetteville. Is that the one or could it be another name?

If I can't find it Ill probably just take the H2O2. If so, look out for stories of "some idiot" poisoning themselves with it in the N&O.

I'm thinking of cultivating the ipecac plant & selling it. It doesn't seem that there's any law yet barring it. If nothng else, I could probably make a killing from dancers & cheerleaders buying it alone.

If that's all you need just bring a normal looking coffee mug with a lid full of cereal, milk and corn you put in a blender, go out of site, take a mouth full, put the lid back on and mug down, walk where someone can see you, go "blaugh huah" and you're done, and you don't have to feel like crap.

or if for some reason that wont work, you need to vomit more than that or cant be that sneaky, just put a bunch of mixed vegitables, cereal and milk in a blender, drink all you can stomach, and try to hold it in till you get there.

Sorry to take so long to post with an update. I was able to spend Christmas and a few days extra with my family. I'll respond to everyone & then talk about my success

^Weird, the pharmacist I called at a Wal-Mart said they didn't stock it. That would have been a lot easier if they still do have it on the shelves somewhere. Maybe it's just at supercenters?

^^lol. I was cracking up reading that, but my stomach is actually pretty strong, due to eating all sorts of past date and nasty stuff over the years--we were kind of poor growing up. I needed something that I'd be physically incapable of keeping down. Also, I'm not that sure of my acting skills.

^^^Oh, but it did... I never would have done this with a "real" job though. I wasn't afraid of losing this as it's a stop-gap shitty job until I can get something with my degree. I got it in 1 day, if that tells you anything.

^^^^Both of those are for ipecacuanha, which is actually a homeopathic remedy to prevent/treat nausea, vomiting, etc. But thanks for your effort
