I remember someone bitching in the Technician about black smoke out of this tower a few years back. IIRC, it's not supposed to do this... and some facilities guy that works there something had gone wrong and that's why there was black smoke...

they use fuel oil there... really they should have some sort of offloading from the rail lines for it set up... would make it better than trucking it in....

pretty sure the smoke stacks comment referred to the incinerators...not gas chambers. If the gas chambers had ventilation like the smoke stacks..they would have been piss poor gas chambers, just saying.

Duke converted over to natural gas boilers for their steam plants recently. the entire facility got a facelift.

thank goodness. that's good stuff. used to be a RR spur from the railroad that went straight into the plant at state - since been buried. it's in all the old maps
