Well, earlier in the evening I disconnected the spring arms that hold the attic stairs up so that I could remove some large objects. I reconnected them briefly without the springs just to get down, then later on my way to bed had to replace the springs so that the door would shut. Well I was crouching up top and got the first one on, and my buddy was helping me re-latch the second one. He had to adjust it a little to get the arm over the stud and the first one came off, from full stretch, and sling shotted the metal arm into my head.

It knocked me back, my ears were ringing hard and my vision was fuzzy/ grayscale for a few moments and then I started pouring blood everywhere. So the lesson here is don't do shit when you are tired and not thinking through things all the way. I have unhooked those stairs many times, always before making sure to properly secure the first arm before messing with the second. The one damn time...

I took this one last night. Not sure what it looks like now, probably crustier. No pain today though, just dull sensation. I think I'm going to try to shower tonight and get all the dried blood out of my mane.

I like imagining all the ways it could've hit me, like a glancing blow probably would have taken off a large flap of scalp, or perhaps if i had my head turned a bit I could have caught it in the face, lost an eye, teeth, etc

funny story actually....so he was in a car accident on xmas eve about a decade ago. we were at the hospital forevvvver (my bro was in the accident too). So, after being at the hospital for 6+ hrs I am chillin with my dad in his room waiting for xrays or something and the nurse comes in and is laughing, "oh Mr. x, how do you keep getting so much blood on your pillow?" and walks out. Not sure why I had to mention that maybe he had a headwound everyone had over looked...shocker. So, then we had to wait another few hours for the staples while my dad kept demanding we just leave (with a hole in his head) cause he was pissed off at them.

ok, so not funny at the time - but very funny to me now.
