A bird lives there with two blue eggs. should I just leave it alone? will going to the mailbox every day spook the mom bird into abandoning the eggs?

A bird can't hurt you so I'd just let it be unless momma bird starts flipping out on you when you go to get the mail. If you move the nest it'll be certain death for the eggs so you might as well just leave them alone and see what happens.

it'll be fine just don't touch the nest. even if you move it the mom probably won't come back so you might as well leave it. if you touch it she'll abandon it.

by the way-you can touch the eggs and the mom will come back.

when i was younger people used to tell me not to play with the eggs or the baby birds because your scent gets on them or something and the mom won't come back.
ive proven that wrong more than once.
mind you this is anecdotal, maybe i should look it up.

now moving the whole nest...im willing to bet that would deter the mom from coming back aha

well yea that is what i meant haha. don't move the whole nest or she will probably abandon it (cause she won't know where it went. even if you moved it close by and she'll probably be like wtf)

but what i was gonna say too was that my bf had a bird's nest on his back deck right behind the door that got open and shut all fall/summer and we were always out there partying and the mommy bird just kept a sharp eye on us but she never abandoned the nest.
