2) they dont and they arent interested so it opens the opportunity for them to lie to you

If they don't mention their boyfriend in the first half an hour, then they're either single or they're down to cheat. If they're really interested in you, then they'll usually say something about their "ex-boyfriend" or mention that they "just broke up" with someone. Then you really know its on.
