I have no problem with it- but when I have had it, it is usually a very limited selection, and they keep churning it out. I mean, I don't mind harris teeter sushi which is typically out for several hours in the refrigerated section

I'm not hard to please though

I think the Tasu in Brier Creek has gone downhill. We went last week and they've really started skimping on size and quality. Something is wrong when two people spend thirty bucks on sushi and leave hungry

where in florida? I mean, they are so close to the good fishing ground- that is like someone from Wilmington saying we pay too much for oysters here inland

but I do agree with him in that it is more expensive than it needs to be, and I wouldn't mind seeing some true sushi houses (I want a damn sushi train, dammit!)

There's a sushi train in Chapel Hill but it sucks lol. There's also one in Cary called Domo Sushi.

I used to love going to the sushi train at Nakato's on 51 in Charlotte- Rick Flair was there all the time too, and when I was younger I tried to get one of whatever he was getting

The neighborhood of bedford off falls of neuse has a sushi and grill in their little neighborhood shops. They do BOGO Sunday through Thursday night. Gonna try it out soon.

It really has. The rolls are HUGE but there isn't a lot of actual fish in the rolls. I took my parents there about a month ago and they hated it LOL

I'd rather spend the extra $$$ and go to Waraji

Champa is great for average sushi. Minimal selection but they do it pretty well.

And their BOGO extends to their traditional entrees too, which are usually awesome

I'm glad more people are able to appreciate Haru- we have been fans for years, but people are just recently (over the last year) starting to agree that it is good

and the lunch specials are awesome!

^^ a friend of mine leased them that space, so I went shortly after opening and have been hooked ever since.

I have had others say they thought it was over-priced, but you get what you pay for in this case.

We went today at lunch to Tasu at cary. it was awesome. we got the shrimp tempura roll, north carolina sunset roll, the woman in red, and the crazy roll.
high quality and service was great...ask for Leslie
I also didn't realize their menu was so extensive..lunch prices were very reasonable (less than 10). I was going to get an entree as well but was stuffed after eating that sushi

I've been going to Tokyo House in North Raleigh recently. They have a huge menu with lots of unique rolls and the quality of the fish is great. They also have Thai dishes (Tom Kha, Pad Thai, curry, etc), and other Japanese entrees (Hibachi stuff, Ramen, Negimaki, etc).

They have a nice atmosphere and have a secluded tatami mat section, too.

The best part is that it is wayyy cheaper than most places but doesn't give up on the quality. If you haven't been, or haven't been in a while (used to be very expensive) you should check it out.

I've never had all-you-can-eat sushi, and I almost find it hard to imagine. Because when I eat sushi, I'm basically inhaling it: it disappears so easily, and when it's gone I don't feel that much fuller than I did when I started.

So if all-you-can-eat sushi were available, a half a roll would be, like, just a warm up. I can't imagine how they can turn a profit on it (unless it's really crap sushi, of course.)

Kai is the best new one I've been to. Waraji is still the best sushi and they have killer sukiyaki, but for the money and quality I like Kai. They also have a unique menu that has a lot of Asian favorites on there like bulgogi.

My usual spots are Kai and Tokyo House

If you like Waraji but don't want to pay Waraji prices, just go to Tokyo House. Seems like most of the employees from Waraji are jumping over to Tokyo House.

I like WAraji but it's too expensive for what you get. But I am going to Waraji in March for Sushi Smackdown.

Surprised to hear Tokyo House compared to Waraji. This is on Six Forks right? I'll have to go give it a try. I love Waraji but only do celebrations there.

Sushi 9 on franklin st in chapel hill is consistently great. Their drunken noodles and panang curry are also as delicious as their sushi.
