^It's CraftBukkit for the server, which is what allows the TWW server to run 1/11/2012 12:12:10 PM

Gotcha.. After some further reading.. it looks like it is an API bridge that allows for mods.
Are there certain MUST HAVE mods? Should I be putting a lot of time into this server or will it be wiped at some point? Sorry for being a newb. This is my first mmo type game and I haven't been playing for a few months.
Also, anyone else experience keys locking while using mouse buttons? ie. I will be digging straight ahead, then try to turn a direction, but my forward key will lock and keep me going that direction. I have to pause and resume to fix it. Running Linux if that matters.
Found this on the wiki:

And it is apparently an issue all over: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/44126-minecraft-moving-problem/

you updated to 1.1? It always takes a while for the server software(bukkit) to be updated after a new release. 1/12/2012 8:44:54 PM

Is there a way to have chests automatically get filled with crap? ie. Water flowing items into the chest somehow? 1/12/2012 11:52:26 PM

There are mods that do that, and I've seen the developers talk about implementing something similar but there's nothing currently like that in vanilla minecraft 1/13/2012 12:42:18 AM

If they spent less time on that and more time studying I bet they'd be pretty close to an architecture degree. 1/17/2012 10:51:39 PM

^^ That looks pretty cool, but how much more performance is someone going to need for that? Id be pretty surprised if most of us couldn't run it, but what about people with normal computers?
admittedly i havent taken much comp sci but minecraft seems to already be pretty resource intensive. Aren't shaders going increase that dramatically? 1/18/2012 2:05:06 AM

They look nice but I don't really see the point. These texture packs/mods just eat up resources. 1/18/2012 2:46:55 AM

I'm not worried about resources (shit, HD shaders ain't going to slow my computer), but I really have no interest in that kind of thing, honestly. 1/18/2012 4:07:22 AM

yes these shaders are GPU memory HONGRY! but if it improves immersion for the people that need it than i'm glad it's being worked on. personally i have an i5 2.2ghz with a 1GB Radeon 5450 and I can not run fullscreen with these enabled and only about 20fps windowed...that's best case scenario as I've heard that it takes down even the mightiest GPUs to those levels and ATI cards seem to fare the worst so I guess I'm just lucky
also this is very much unoptimized code by amateurs so when you realize that the guy just took a stab at it and had never done much coding before it really makes it all that more impressive
but i'm also on a laptop so i imagine by the time i have a desktop in a few years itll be much more manageable 1/18/2012 1:22:34 PM

Anyway, this link shows the scale of the universe, and includes the "minecraft world"... it's about the size of Uranus. http://htwins.net/scale2/scale2.swf?bordercolor=white

1.2 coming tomorrow with some good stuff.
New bug with nether portals - when traveling from nether to overworld, it will NOT do the "nearest portal" search beyond a height of 128. Bummer.
---
In other words you cannot travel back from the nether to any portal that is above 128 in the overworld.
