i'd like to see a comparison of the overall efficiency and emissions:

a chunk of coal from mine, to diesel locomotive, through scrubbed power plant, to turbine, to wire, to homeowner's heat pump

an oak cut with chainsaw, hauled home, through splitter, into wood heater

i bet the coal wins on both accounts

The science is clear. It's very harmful to burn wood in your home. Now go ahead and give your children respiratory problems, I don't give a fuck. But you are the one that is deluded.

The science from some guy's blog? If using wood for heat were as catastrophic as that blog makes it out to be, there would be some seriously fucked people in Scandinavia where most homes heat with wood.
