Man that Dr. Brown bottle warmer is a life saver because the wife has been pumping and freezing.

And melting the bottle over warm water while my boy is screaming for food is too stressful.

^I rotated my freezer milk. I would pull the frozen milk before I went to bed and stick it in the fridge. It was mostly thawed when feeding time came around. I totally know what you mean tho.

I never even saw those Dr. Brown bottles. I bet you he would have loved those to as that appears similar to the Avent one we settled on.

i have to confess that i have the urge to touch preggo bellies in spite of knowing first hand how weird and intrusive it is. i don't recall having the urge before being pregnant myself. maybe folks secretly miss the little bowling ball bellies.

I bought a 2012 outback the day I found out I was pregnant (coincidence that it worked out that way). I had a 06 civic before that & knew that would never work with a kid & dogs. Hopefully we never have a van in the driveway. No offense punchmonk

i went from a little diesel VW Golf to a Honda Odyssey when my second was three months old. while i miss the mileage on the Golf, I am seriously in love with the van. Everything is so much easier. carseats, carpooling, diaper changes and feedings on the go...i could go on and on. the height difference has really saved my back with buckling car seats and impromptu diapering.

Yeah. A van is a new experience for us. I didn't want a van but it is the best thing for our 3 kid load. We got a 2008 Sienna. We looked at Odysseys and Siennas. We needed to get a van that was in our price range and could get the most out of our Matrix trade.

You're going to love having a van! (I hope! ) It may not be "hip" or "cool," but it has so many conveniences that it really won't matter in the end. I frequently have a my kids and someone else's kids in tow and it really is the best way to go when you have more than 2 kids.

i've now moved into the awesome phase of hip pain. my left hurts when i walk & the right when i sit. they both hurt when i try to lay on my side & i had a miserable night last night. i put a pillow b/w my knees last night but it wasn't thick enough & later i woke up with shoulder pain too. if you had/have this, what worked for you? have you tried those giant u- or c-shaped maternity pillow things? i'm leaning more toward the u-shaped ones b/c i roll over a lot & the c-shaped ones look like you'd have to pick the thing up & flip it over to change sides. suggestions?

^ I didn't have the hip really until the end. BUT I'd get a U shaped pillow. I wouldn't get the boppy maternity pillow. It lost all it's stuffing fast and didn't have enough belly support (it's great now ). I also roll alot and had to constantly flip it.

one of the others that people buy a lot has some bad reviews about the seam in it where your neck would meet the pillow. this looks like it wouldn't have that problem.

i used the boppy preggo pillow that was c shaped, but i tried it in front of me and behind me. i also tried a wedge at the suggestion of my ob. nothing really helps. its all miserable. but if i did it all over again, i would try the u shape.

Man, I wore the hell out of some support stockings/preggo tights until I couldn't get them on anymore. It might help bc it supports your belly and helps circulation in your legs. It might work if you can get them on.

With the first babe, I used a belly band to relieve some of the pressure. I would also stand at a table and rest my stomach on the table. Sometimes, when my husband felt really sorry for me, he'd stand with his arms wrapped around my front and "lift" my preggo belly.

While I could get respite from my lower back pain, nothing I tried helped with the hip pain. The OB told me that a wedge pillow under my help would help the hip pain, but the help was negligible. Eventually the best rest that I got was on the couch or in a recliner.

The most comfortable that I could ever get while pregnant was in the water. Either in a large tub or swimming pool.

i still can't stand to have something cover my entire stomach (like those maternity pants that come up to your ribs). my SIL gave me a bella band & that drives me nuts too. at first i thought it was just bc of the nausea but i still don't like it. i've been wearing the under-the-belly type maternity pants. but yeah sometimes i just want somebody else to hold it up for a while

i cannot wait for the water to warm up at the beach. my parents have a house in EI & i have a feeling i'll be spending wayyyyy more time down there this summer. usually we don't go that often.

i'll be scrounging up all the pillows tonight & until the new one comes in. if it comes down to it there are 2 rocker-recliners in the house, so one of those might work too. wish me luck

i actually backed out of being a bridesmaid in my brother's wedding coming up in may. i'll be 6 mo pregnant then. there were several reasons, some of them being the bride picked a dress with a built in corset & wouldn't allow for any other options, it was going to cost a SHIT TON to try to make the dress fit (& i had been told it wasn't likely that it would work anyway), & with my MG my pregnancy has been pretty unpredictable & rough. it was just easier all the way around & wasn't a big deal to my brother or his fiance.

i wish this person lots of luck.

that said, a chair might look a little funny but it depends on the wedding, the girl, & the situation as a whole i guess. maybe a stool would be less weird, idk. i think personally i would feel weird sitting down up front like that.

Im letting all my bridesmaids pick out their own dresses, and i think im getting them all toms for shoes. If I put a seat up there I would tie it in with the fall decor. Maybe a repurposed tree stump with a cusion on it.

^^^ I was preggo at a wedding - but not 8 months! I think sitting for the ceremony wouldn't be necessary (unless it's a SUPER long wedding), but definitely having a place for her to sit immediately after the ceremony (during pictures, at the reception). I also think just being understanding will go a long way. An 8 month pregnant bridesmaid may not feel like partying till midnight.

The hoopla and traditional wedding crap will only last a few hours, and since there will be kids (im a nanny, babysitter, ex-preschool teacher) we will even be staging our departure early, then we will change and have an after party.

good! that's a completely different situation from my brother's wedding, and that's a good thing. it was this one dress in this one fabric with high heels, no exceptions. i've never worn high heels in my life & don't plan on starting when i'm pregnant & already unstable/weak! lol
the bride's family is the snotty old money everything has to be perfect type, so there's no negotiating.

That is sad. I want a nice wedding where everyone is happy and comfortable. ive been in my share of awful polyester dresses, heels walking in soft grass( very annoyed at the 40 dollar white satin heels that sunk in the mud, not that i would have worn them again anyways) and standing for what feels like forever. I want all my bridemaids and the groomsmen to be comfortable, but I know she will be uncomfortable no matter what.

it's going to depend in the pregnancy. with Silas, I could have stood through a marriage ceremony easily at 8 months. it would have been a bit of a struggle at 8 months with Amelia.

random question: is it okay for me to vacuum up the stray litter around the litter box or do i need to let chris do that too? i won't be touching it, just vacuuming it (with the allergen filtering bags, not hepa, but better than the standard ones).

imo it is ok. most life long cat owners or gardeners have already been exposed. it is problematic when it is your first exposure during pregnancy. if you're an outdoorsy kitty person, i'd feel comfortable doing thing that dont involve direct contact with used litter like sweeping or adding clean litter to the box.

My physician also told me that you can scoop if you wear rubber gloves as it creates one more barrier, and you make sure not to touch the gloves without cleaning them afterwards. I would think sweeping is fine, particularly if you are careful to avoid direct contact.

i have no plans on doing the scooping while pregnant i've scooped zoe's poop for the last 9 years; it's his turn. lol

hahaha awesome pic!

i had an appt yesterday. just doppler. heart rate was 148 then 153, & i'm 22cm (and 22 weeks today).

last night the baby was moving around like crazy when i was laying in bed reading. i decided to see what would happen if i spoke directly to it (hadn't really done that yet), so i said "hey parker. what in the world are you doing in there??" & it stopped moving immediately. i laughed, then shook my stomach & it started moving around again. silly baby (it could have all been coincidence but it made me smile)

That's totally normal. Around the 6-8 month mark, I start to get baby fever. Even though I know I'd probably have a nervous breakdown if I found out I was pregnant again and that I despise pregnancy, I can't help but think it'd be nice to have another one.

^^ I think it's the anticipation, excitement and such I miss about being pregnant. Plus the newborn cushy, cuddliness.

Then I remember the crying, not sleeping and such forth... and then I imagine that plus a 1 year old and I change my mind quick.

Plus - my husband would die if I got pregnant right now. He, at the moment, only wants one. I want one more (but in about 2 years).
