Yeah, you're not going to find a fool proof name. We thought that Silas was just a perfect name because it didn't really rhyme with anything, no teasing nickname, no nickname other than Sigh, we though easy to pronounce. . .

Then we started hearing Cyrus or (from foreigners) See-loss.

My husband has a good friend named "Si" pronounced like the si of silas.

His nickname was "Si-ball" like eyeball

So when you started to feel the baby kick, how far along were you and what did it feel like? I've been having jabbing pains the past few days that I thought maybe were gas but now I'm not so sure

i started feeling it around 14 weeks for sure, but i'm pretty sure i felt it occasionally earlier than that but just didn't know what it was. i'm not sure how to describe it other than just something kinda moving inside. it didn't feel like butterflies (as they describe it on various websites) to me. the doctor said the kid is very active (even then).

now i'm getting the shit beat out of my insides on a daily/nightly basis. it hurts & my uterus is bruised.

At 14 weeks I felt like what was a fish moving. At 16 we had the first actual kick that was an obvious kick, and got lucky in how I was laying and where Ryan was positioned that my husband saw and felt it too. He never felt another one though.

I know now that I had really active baby on my hands.

I wouldn't describe early movement as being anything as harsh as stabbing, jabbing, poking, or painful. It really is imperceptible. So imperceptible that you may not even be sure that it is there. It feels like a weird wriggle or tickle from inside, and it's definitely a foreign feeling.

I think I started to feel the baby move around 15 weeks.

I get to leave the thread!

Anastasia Rose was born last Wednesday at 1:53PM. She is 21.5 inches and 7 pounds 9 ounces. I am so glad I ended up having the c-section as she came out with the cord tightly wrapped around her neck.

Every doctor I saw said they were surprised I made it to my date. I was on the emergency list for 2 weeks apparently if I would have called the service any night in those 2 weeks I would have had the baby.

So here she is:

Here are her newborn pics from the hospital...I LOVE how they came out....
http://Www.bellababyphotography.com

Password:0620anastasiapaolantonio

It was a free session and the disk is 135.

My son...I didn't feel him move until he was 22 weeks. I had no idea it kinds felt like indigestion. I had gotten a pedicure and sat in the massage chair. He moved like a freak.

My daughter around 15 weeks. I know what I was looking for so I immediately knew what it was when I felt her move.

What are you going to call her? Will you shorten Anastasia?

Thanks!

So I had no idea what the "50 Shades of Grey" series was so I looked it up.

My kids are named Chris and Anastasia. So weird. I did this with no outside influence.

I think we will call her Ana. Should she get teased in terms of the Anorexia jokes, we will pull her out of the school and she will go by Stacy at a new one. We like Anna Rose and entertained AnnaBelle, Anne, etc. She ended up being named the day before I left the hospital. Since my son got Edward (my hubby's name) we gave my daughter Rose from me (Amelia Rose). A close second was Victoria Rose.

Anyone else here have multiple C-sections? How was your second in terms of healing? She had to cut through a lot of adhesions (said she cleaned them up) and scar tissue and I feel a lot worse than I did last time. Seriously. I know it is 4 layers of stitches and then the glue/strips to hold your skin together, but having NO abdominal muscles is killing me.

I've had two C sections. I managed better with my second than I did with my first. However, the first time around I didn't know what to expect and my child was in the PICU. My incision certainly didn't heal up as pretty the second time though.

^^that's funny (the names thing/50 shades).

my hands are killing me. i wake up & they're huge/swollen, i can't grasp objects, & it hurts so bad. there's some off & on tingling/numbness, but it's the swelling & pain that's really bothering me so much. i have & wear wrist splints. i wish i could detach my arms when i lay down. this morning is definitely the worst it's been so far. the doc said to keep doing what i'm doing unless/until i start to get numbness & tingling 24 hrs a day. i can't wait to get this kid out.

I'm sorry--totally understand your pain there. I also had carpal tunnel symptoms at the end. It lasted after the birth for about 2 months then finally went away. The numbness & tingling actually got worse from holding baby all the time although the swelling went down. Wearing a wrist brace was the key. Hang in there!

lol yeah i'm a little concerned/interested to see what the sweating phase after delivery will bring. i have night sweats on a normal, regular basis when i'm not pregnant (been through lots of testing for thyroid problems partially because of this symptom). they haven't seemed to have gotten too much worse (so far) with pregnancy.

At a 4th of July party, a 4 year old was going around telling people how skinny they were. "My my, you are so skinny." She gets to me and just says "Nevermind" and walks off

Everybody died laughing. I love the honesty of little kids

well for a little bit last night i thought it was time. i've had BH contractions several times now, but these were super super painful. at first they hurt so bad i couldn't move/walk. they weren't regular & they lasted varying lengths of time. i tried laying on my side, drank a shit ton of water, eventually walked around the driveway for a while, but none of that helped. they stopped after an hour or so. it was really scary. i'm mentally & physically ready, but the house is not & there's still a bunch of stuff we don't have for the kid (2 shower coming up 2 weeks from now). i'm paranoid now though. i'll be putting some stuff together for a hospital bag later today...

Starting with a girl I find myself totally unprepared for the damage a boy can do to our home. He tears down everything. When she was 1, her method for getting something off a table would be whine until someone came by and gave it to her. His method is shake table until things fall off it or it falls apart.

forkgirl: I had multiple c-sections and had the most difficulty on the wound with my second. Hematoma. My first was no picnic either. Pneumonia and uterine infection. My third healed the best by far.
I had inner stitches with steri-strips on the surface wound for all three.

One of he worst things is having to build ab muscle again. This last time, I wore spanx to help me stand up straight.

I'm just glad I like scars. I'm a weirdo but this one is def my favorite!!

^Thanks for the response...I still cannot lay on my right side. The first I had 18 staples and then steri strips when they came out. This time....I had the glue and steri strips. My scar looks much worse.

The bleeding also is a billion times worse too. I spotted for 5 days last time and I am still passing clots. I might look into spanx...someone else told me to go get a band. The spanx seem better.

yay Samantha on the boy.

^^Try to hold that baby in! Not envious of you with how the weather has been. Drink your water!

When I got pregnant with my daughter, First Response showed negative and the Dollar brand said positive. Multiple positive dollar tests later, the doctor confirmed with blood work.

I'll NEVER spend more then $1 on a pregnancy test again!

Plus I enjoy the looks you get when buying a pregnancy test at the dollar tree!

Anyone know where I can get an expired Graco car seat?? I need a canopy for an infant carrier.

I got a new one for my shower and didn't notice the canopy was missing until I used it and they will not take it back. Graco wants a lead time to match the fabric and I want one now because of the current weather.

I'm having fun finding all the good deals. Like finding Huggies diapers 75% a couple weeks ago at CVS and stocking up on numerous styles/sizes. With coupons, I was able to get Huggies for like $.02 a diaper.

Apparently there is a big consignment sale coming up at the Fairgrounds in a few weeks. Might try and hit that up to get some cheap baby toys.

^^^^ keep the samples! I almost gave mine away to a friend because my plan was to breasfeed for a year. But when I went back to work I couldn't pump enough to keep up and then he started drinking 8 ozs. When I realized I couldn't produce enough to make he content I was SO GLAD I had kept the samples.
