Where it be?

I've had the one at Mitch's and Boondini's...but that's about it. What am I missing?

If you care to venture over to Cary, check out Hotpoint on Buck Jones Road. Their food is awesome, and I've heard good things about their Cuban.

jax's was pretty good

better than mitch's was (mitch's sammichs are typically too dry for me though), but that is no longer an option. I haven't tried it anywhere else. I am interested in where this thread might go though!

the Raleigh Times makes a damn good cuban sandwich.

I'd say cuban revolution in durham is even better.

The shredded lettuce they use at Boondini's is fucking amazing. You wouldn't think lettuce could be notable, but it fucking is.

I have a serious problem not ordering the nachos and burger at the Times but I'm headed there next week so I'm gonna branch out a bit and try the Cuban.

Yeah I love that place. Sandwiches and soup are both awesome...and the free tea isn't bad either

^^it's pretty dope. that's my go-to there, but every now and then I'll try something else.

also in the same shopping center I'm digging on that Bagel City or whatever it's called. I've only had breakfast there but their sandwiches etc look good too.

Not Raleigh, but I've had one at...

Lina's Cafe and Catering in RTP (Durham) off of Miami http://www.linascafeandcatering.com/

I had a good one at Fowler's Market in downtown Durham, but I think that place closed

I thought cubans were supposed to have pressed flat bread... how can they have too much bread if that is the case? (admittedly, I've only had nachos and other app's there so I don't know how they do their sammiches)

Haven't had it at many places but I do like the ones at Mitch's

There is a new joint opening in downtown Durham called Old Havana Sandwich Shop that is supposed to specialize in Cuban Sandwiches. Opens tomorrow, according to their Twitter feed--hoping to try it out in the next couple of weekends.

I just went there for the first time yesterday for lunch.

Then again for lunch today.

That place is awesome.

Old Havana Cafe in downtown Durham has the most AMAZING Cuban. It's pretty much their entire menu. I know it's Durham but it's worth the drive.

I tried to go there today for lunch but there was no parking and I was in a hurry. My only complaint about that place is the parking situation blows during work hours.

We should pool together our votes for different categories and print out some winner's certificates. Wonder if we could get the restaurants to put them on their wall.

^^With the comments in the best burrito thread, it would be kinda ironic to roll into Carrburritos and see a plaque voting anything in Chapel Hill-Carrboro as the best from a website associated with NCSU. Except this:

I'm sure I'll get called out for this, but I've accompanied multiple patrons who have enjoyed the Cuban at Bahama Breeze.
