Don't know how many watched last season, but this season has a local.

Chris Tilley from Garner NC is on it.

His dad owns Personal Defense in Garner.

Last time I wa there was at least 2 years. At that time they were decent. But it wouldn't surprise me if they drank the Wake Co. kool-aid. I'd still choose them over Law-man's or Davi's - at least for now. Their prices were always cheaper. But that may have changed too.

personal defense isn't that bad barring an employee or two, I've bought a couple guns there and done some range time.

Wasn't Pete from the last season local, too? He was definitely rocking a Carolina Rollergirls shirt on a few of the episodes, at least.

I have known Mike and Chris for more than 7 years now. Mike is a good guy. I did have a run in with him a few years back over a family membership, but he did his best to make it right.

I have taken several classes with Chris. He may come off a little cocky, but the kid knows his shit and will out shoot anyone on this board in a heartbeat. He is a true competitor and I hope he wins the show.

they were nice to me every time I went, I bought several guns from there. They had a video from a match and Chris was shooting, he was fast fast fast.

Damn dude, Tilley is on there.

I agree, they act like anyone under the age of 50 is not capable of buying their products. BUT Chris, out of everyone, is the one dude who gave me a bit of respect when I was in there. Their prices are kind of high sometimes, other times they're reasonable. I got an amazing deal on a Glock 17 there, that was my first handgun actually. But then I got a lemon S&W 642 from them and after I bought it and fired it, I brought it back. Then they said "Oh, yeah most of the 642's we sold had problems". THAT sort of pissed me off, because they sold those revolvers knowing people were coming back with problems. It's probably not something I can really hold against them, but I wouldn't have bought it if I'd known that the other ones they sold from that batch were fucked up.

At this point I just go to Jim's. At least he's a nice dude and will give you the fucking time of day. The people at Davi's have really straightened up their act too. I don't go in there to look at firearms though, I just go there for the knives. I know the manager there, Richard S. He is a great guy and we always talk customs and show each other new customs. Richard actually knows quite a few makers and they get really good customs in there. He said they aren't letting him stock up on more customs right now though because they haven't sold enough of the ones they have. If anyone wants a McGinnis custom they have one up there. It's fucking beautiful, like all of his work. If I didn't have this other shit on order I'd buy it.

80 Yard Gong with a Kahr PM9, if you don't want to see the whole video, skip ahead to about 4:50.

Hickok45 is definitely a good shot.

Desert Eagle .44Mag, 230yd gong.

He is best with Glocks though. He proves Glocks are very accurate handguns.

If you click on the link, it says feb 8th.

I hope Chris does well.

The biggest problem I have with PDHSC, and with most gun stores is the few people that work there that "used to be in law enforcement" and tell everyone the laws.
I love their range, and usually they know what they are talking about. I have repeatedly been told that I am going to be arrested for the open carrying that I do. The last time I was there one of these former cops was telling some new gun owners that if anyone ever saw their gun, then they would be arrested. I jumped in and corrected. I got the usual GAttTotP speach. The guy then told the people that they can just carry anywhere and no one would know, even if there are signs saying otherwise.
It went on from there, but I felt it was better to leave.

I have been there and met Chris before- he is cool. As is the other "kid" that works there. But there are definitely some tool bags that work there. I won't go there anymore to shoot, I'll just either go somewhere else that has land to shoot for free (after gas spent to get there, it is still usually cheaper, and I don't have to deal with some condescending/hypocritical jerks)

Actually, I don't buy custom knives. Because, like, if I own a knife from a given maker, that means at least one person owns a knife from them. And that's just way too mainstream for me.

But you work at a knife store.

Yeah it's, like, pretty ironic?

Davi's always had me worried, I always saw some minor unsafe practices at the range and never went back after i got to the store not long after an accidental discharge. The discharge is why they no longer allow carrying in the store. I've never felt unsafe at PDHSC, even with some of the new shooters that are there on the weekend.

The range closed a long time ago.

Again, they straightened up their act. There are no signs stating that you cannot carry in the store btw.

Note: I don't really recommend buying firearms there. I go there for the knives. Depending upon the knife, they sometimes have excellent prices and they actually carry decent customs unlike most stores.

This is interesting news.

To bad the show was contrived and boring to watch.

I just started watching the episodes that I recorded on my DVR... I thought Chris looked familiar. Found this thread and realized that he helped me with a purchase I made at their store a few weeks ago.

yeah he did. What was he thinking?
But I totally thought he was going to win (and win big) in the elimination challenge. I was all and when he lost. He was one of the two I guessed would win it.
