An occasional out of place thread isn't going to kill the site, and you never know what type of funny might happen in it. The toothpaste thread in Tech Talk is the perfect example of a thread that would have never happened in the modern era of locking the instant a thread seems out of place.

So, why are the powers that be so ardent about ruling with an iron fist?

On a related note, is the much improved wolf web something that is real or is kind of an inside joke thing and it really isn't going to happen?
