I predict Irene will skirt florida and then curve out to sea and not really make landfall anywhere.

What are good weekend plans during a hurricane?

I had some nice outdoor activities planned both days of this weekend and now they're going to be rained out.

What are the best things to get out and do during a hurricane?

problem is when they call for thunderstorms. That tends to cancel most stuff outdoors.

Both my roommates are planning on staying here at the house...as long as they are staying at the house I'm going to be staying here...I won't, however, be staying at my house alone.

^^ I was there for a cat 1 at landfall, was cat 2 when it was miles out...cant remember which one it was though.

It wasnt THAT scary...just more eerie than anything.

No one on the roads, bridge closed, sirens constantly going off, no power, salty water and cold stingy rain...

i wouldnt do it again just because i experienced it once

Yeah...this will for sure be an interesting experience...I think since I am going to be staying at my house I will plan on staying sober...just in case I do need to drive, or a situation comes up where I need to be totally aware of everything....

I do plan on taking lots of pictures and videos though, and I will upload them as it's happening as long as we have power...which I'm sure we will lose fairly early...I mean at my house all the sky has to do is just look at the power lines bad and the electricity is like "Okay, fine, I'll shut off for a while"

make sure you have a full tank of gas...we had one but did so much riding around that we got low and had to wait a few days to get any more bc of the power outage.

I just filled up, and the only driving I'm doing until the hurricane is to work and home...I'm gonna get some cash out of the bank on Friday...just in case too.

I also just got a Coleman cell phone charger...it uses batteries, that way I don't have to worry about my cell phone dying.

Stupid question, I'm sure, but if this storm stays on the Outerbanks on Saturday, is it possible that an RDU to ATL flight at noon on Sat would still be on?

At long as the winds aren't bad there you should be fine...they don't think Raleigh will get too much...might not even get much rain...
