Thats what I was thinking. If anyone should know that he's not ready, it would be his dad. And the usual money excuse doesn't make much sense either in this case. 3/23/2012 11:23:35 AM

I wonder if K just wouldn't let him come back. He'll still get drafted pretty highly, and he seemed to be horrible for Duke's team chemistry. 3/23/2012 11:33:22 AM

that was the pre-season myth, but I don't think that's true at all. if anything he's the only one that seemed to give a fuck all season. now someone like Seth Curry I think hurts chemistry way worse.
anyway i don't think he's ready for the league at all but I think he had his mind set on this before he even went to college 3/23/2012 12:34:46 PM

I think this is a bad move by him. Loaded draft, and he'd certainly go higher if he at least stayed another year. Not like he needs the money either, and I thought his dad would tell him to stay longer. Wonder what is making him leave. 3/23/2012 1:34:29 PM

i think its a great move for Rivers. Everyone knew he was one and done when he committed.
If he played like he did this year again next season he'd probably fall out of the first round. He has to go pro now while people can base it on his potential instead of his actual results 3/23/2012 3:18:36 PM

im sure you meant strictly basketball but Randy Edsall is even worse. When he took over Maryland was in decent shape, at least Wake was starting from scratch
If K and Roy could just have some health problems and retire already we'd be set to do some serious damage in this conference. Esp if boeheim ever gets forced out for his sexual predatoring 3/23/2012 3:45:26 PM

haha, right?? i've thought this many times lately.
also k's presser after the lehigh loss didn't instill a lot of confidence in me that he wanted to do this for 10 more years. i could be wrong, obviously. 3/23/2012 4:55:03 PM

Don't know if anyone watched...but the slam dunk contest last night was pretty sick. Plumlee had a weak dunk (really tall guys usually don't do well in these contests)...but everyone else was pretty solid. Complete opposite of recent NBA and the McDAA dunk contests where people miss a dozen times but still have a chance. Not too many gimmicks...just a lot of nasty dunk. Kid who won was 5'10" and could jump out of the gym.
I recommend watching if you can find a replay somewhere. 3/30/2012 8:52:07 AM

I remember when Cam was in that one. IIRC he did the lob-bounce-alley-oop off the side edge of the back board, which was coincidentally the same dunk that shabaz did in the MCDAA contest. 3/30/2012 9:20:29 AM

Some kid from Auburn did that last night, but he added 360-ish move to it (not quite...but close). Was a little more impressive. Jones from Miami also did a pretty good "behind the backboard" dunk that Cam also did. 3/30/2012 9:34:37 AM

| Quote : | "The probe also determined that former men's assistant Mark Morefield committed a major violation when he attempted to influence two AAU coaches to furnish the NCAA with false and misleading information regarding a series of text messages. Morefield resigned in July 2011.
The report concluded that Drew demonstrated a "failure to monitor" of the activities of two of his assistant coaches and that there also was an overall "failure to monitor" by the institution, which found 405 additional impermissible calls and text messages from nine different sports, ranging from football to the equestrian program, from January-July 2011, during its investigation.
Men's assistant basketball coaches Paul Mills and Jerome Tang also were named in the report along with women's basketball assistant coach Damion McKinney.
According to the report, all of the coaches -- including Drew and Mulkey -- have acknowledged their involvement in the respective findings and are at risk for a show-cause penalty, which means any penalties will remain on record regardless of where they coach. Schools wishing to hire them would have to "show cause" as to why they shouldn't inherit the penalties. However, considering that most of the impermissible calls were made by their assistants, it appears unlikely that Drew or Mulkey would be slapped with a show-cause penalty.
Each head coach, however, could face further penalties from the committee on infractions and each is dealing with a handful of penalties that were self-imposed by Baylor. Among them:
• Mulkey -- whose 2011-12 squad went 40-0 and won the NCAA title -- will be prohibited from recruiting off-campus for the entire summer recruiting period (July 1-31).
• McKinney hasn't been allowed to make recruiting calls to prospective student-athletes since Jan. 1. The ban will be lifted on May 1.
• Baylor's women's basketball program lost two of its 15 scholarships in 2011-12.
• Baylor's men's program lost one scholarship for both the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons.
• Drew and Tang were prohibited from making recruiting calls from Jan. 1-Feb. 29 of this year.
• The maximum number of official visits allowed to the men's basketball team in 2012-13 was reduced from 12 to seven." |

I don't appreciate Ryan Harrow
but what should we expect out of him after sitting out a year at Kentucky? Will he be overlooked with their incoming class or will he be a key starter in their rotation?
I'd like nothing more than to see him keep his head buried in his hands on the bench, but i'l curious. 4/24/2012 9:37:29 AM
