Money, tell us about your nametag. How great would it have been to have been at the Anne Heche taping?

I listen at night when cooking...or yeah in the car, especially when on trips. Sometimes when working outside.

To those of you who listen to Hardcore History: more power to ya. They're like 6 hour episodes and are sometimes multi-parters

I listen while walking the dogs, making dinner, folding clothes, etc. Basically any time I'm doing something that doesn't require my full attention. They're also great to listen to while heading to and from work.

----

Check out Transmissions from Colony One, the story of the first colony attempt on Mars. It's got pretty great sound design and a full cast with no narrator.

Sounds cool. Is it overly technical?

It's definitely technical, but I think it's handled in a "The listener isn't stupid" way. Most things are eventually explained, and a lot of the tech just comes from military-speak/tech jargon/acronyms that get cleared up at some point. It's one of the few podcasts to make me say, "Holy shit!" in the middle of an episode. Give it a few and you'll probably get hooked.

i generally really liked. some of the digging in his sexual past was a bit of an invasion of privacy to me and i could've done without it. but it was fascinating and very interesting.

Your Kickstarter Sucks

funny shit, even with some rough audio/production in the first few episodes but they're getting better with each one.

I haven't seen it mentioned on here but I really enjoyed Crimetown

It's about the mob in Providence RI and is by the same people that did the HBO show The Jinx.

Cum Town...

No seriously, its like 3 NYC comedians who just sit around and talk about random shit and its hilarious, also highly offensive.

I can't seem to get into true crime podcasts. The closest things that I've enjoyed have been Lore and S-town.

Alternatively, I've spent the last few weeks burning through The Adventure Zone, a real-play D&D podcast that's a spinoff from their main one My Brother, My Brother, and Me. I originally started listening to get a feel for the mechanics of the game, continued because it was hilarious, and have caught completely up because of the campaign's arc.

"News AF" is pretty funny. 3 guys with comedy skills commenting on a few of that weeks strange news stories

"red state update" 2 progressives from TN that do redneck accents and talk shit about trump. they have fake sponsors of the show that are usually funny

Anyone listen to Up and Vanished?

Started out pretty decently but has really started dragging along.

Content isn't very compelling anymore. Mostly filler.

Jocko Podcast is great, he has some really interesting stories/guests and can be incredibly motivational too. It's definitely got a military base to it but you don't have to be in the military to appreciate it.

Pod Save America, Intercepted, Reveal, DecodeDC, Invisibilia, Freakonomics, Planet Money, 99% Invisible, - I pretty much listen to every episode of these

How Did This Get Made - I only listen if I've seen the movie, that said, when I have it's probably my favorite podcast

Also going through old Mike and Tom Eat Snacks - great shit, but after doing like 15 episodes or so I think I'm kind of getting bored with them

Others that I listen to depending on interest level: WTF, Joe Rogan, Song Exploder, Art of Manliness, The Sporkful, SC Featured, Stuff You Should Know, What's the Point, The Bowery Boys, Rock Solid

got hooked on these. I actually like the multi-part ones and sometimes feel like the shorter one-offs aren't fulfilling.

the multi-part one about WWI is free right now and is absolutely incredible. it adds so much context even if you're familiar with the events.

another thing I really enjoy is Historia Civilis on YouTube. he comes out with maybe one a month but they're excellent for Ancient (Greece/Rome/Macedonia/etc.) history. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCv_vLHiWVBh_FR9vbeuiY-A

Conan’s podcast started out shaky but the last two episodes have been fantastic. David Sedaris last week and Stephen Colbert this week.

the Colbert ep gets deep and it’s kind of amazing to listen to
