^^ I think you confuse vengeance with justice. And haven't addressed any of the legal or practical problems the law poses

Concealing what exactly? If she hasn't been proven of murder, what was she concealing? Her child accidentally dying? It's none of the government's business. You're just sour grapes because you really really think she did it and she needs to be punished. The law wouldn't have saved Caylee whether she was actually murdered, so what's the point?

She concealed the whereabouts and death of her child when people were inquiring.

You don't own your children. You shouldn't be allowed to just dump their bodies and tell everybody to fuck off cause it's your kid.

That's odd, because I think you should, though of course lying in the course of an investigation should be punished.

The particulars of a child's non-violent death and burial is no one's business except for the family. Assuming the burial meets safety regulations of course.

Technically, shouldn't one have to get a burial license? So if you bury your kid without the license, you're already breaking a law on the books. Why do we need another?

Why? Cops can lie to us, why can't we lie to them?

Laws are disincentive for behaviors.

"Lying to investigators during the course of an official investigation" is a behavior we definitely should dissuade people from doing. Justice can be time-sensitive (which proponents of this law are keenly aware of) and impeding justice is not something I would want the populace of which I am a member to do.

Now before someone responds with this law would have prevented Casey from impeding justice, you're A) assuming she's guilty and B) assuming that if she already ignored the "don't murder your children" law that she'd care about the proposed "don't try to hide it" law and C) deciding that her actually getting in trouble for lying during the investigation was "enough" punishment.

"Not telling the government when a private family matter happens" is not a behavior we should dissuade people from doing. A family should be able to contact the authorities IF THEY WISH and on whatever timeframe they feel is appropriate.

I didn't pay attention to this trial at all. I have almost no idea what the facts of the case are cause I don't care about it. And I'm not a supporter of Caylee's Law.

Again, because I have no background...didn't they chuck her in a swamp?

If she violated an existing law regarding proper burial then she should be charged, fined, whatever. A new law to punish her for not letting the government know that she improperly buried her child within an arbitrary amount of time is not needed.
