I don't think they are any different but I don't know. I'm not sure how I would check.

The invites we have are instant and you can actually just post the tokens if you want to create a "first come first serve" scenario. Whereas at least early on, the "So and so has been given invites -- enter your email to receive one" deal would take a couple of days or longer at times.

Also, I am getting fucking PISSED at this "Spotify is already running but not responding" bug. It wouldn't be an issue if they didn't LOCK THE PROCESS AND PREVENT ME FROM ENDING IT OR EVEN KILLING IT. It's ridiculous and rebooting is the only way to fix it.

That said, here's a couple of codes.

What are you running it on? I don't think I've had a single issue with it yet and I run it 9+ hours every day since I signed up. (Win7 Pro 64-bit & OSX 10.6-10.7)

wow, looks like a fun issue to google. Looks like there's a bunch of people with the same issue but they all seem to be in another language (I guess since it's been in Europe so long before here). Did find an english thread that shows that it's been going on for about 3 years though (http://getsatisfaction.com/spotify/topics/spotify_freezing_restart_is_the_only_solution if you haven't already found it). Good luck with it.

*edit* I'm also on the $10 plan since I spend a good 40-50 hours a week with it running on something I own (desktop, laptop, iphone, or ipad).

"What?"

Laptop hooked to speakers with Spotify open, party-goers add music to a party playlist throughout the night as they see fit.

It has its pros and cons, but it is certainly enjoyable.

In the year 3030, everybody wants to be a DJ; but with Spotify, everyone can be.

Oh.

Yeah my original post was less than coherent.

*Spotify facilitates an overall improved musical experience at parties by incorporating the interests of the group throughout the entirety of an evening.

Or, Spotify is awesome.

threadjack...

how the heck are you guys listening to 40 hours of music a month on your computer? do you have it playing in the background at home or something? can you guys actually listen to it at work? I haven't listened to that much music since I was in school, and I know most of you fuckers aint in school anymore Man, I've missed that. Only time I listen to music now is when I work out. Do yall still use Winamp, or am I way behind on that, too, lol

I am in a support operations center and use a headset/mic combo for calls from our classes. When I am not doing that though, I am free to listen to music, stream Netflix, or whatever. Advantage of dual screens. So I just mute/pause whenever we get a service request. I can stream/listen all day long.

Fucking desktop app pisses me off at least once a day. It will crash and then you can't end the spotify process without rebooting.

Searching for artists is lame. I did a search for Simon and Garfunkel and it only returned one song. The problem was the search didn't include Simon & Garfunkel.

So you can search for a username and "subscribe" to that user's playlist. So whenever they add a song to that playlist, you see it.

Anyone know any good users to subscribe to? I tried to google it up but I kept running into LMFAO and Pit Bull.

First six months are running out for people who signed up last summer. I think I have about a week left and I'll definitely be paying for premium when it does.

What about everybody else?

Anyone know of a way to organize your playlists...outside of playing with them in the left frame of the app? i've got so many playlists it'd be easier to manipulate them in a windows explorer like view or something

All these clean rap songs are annoying

ok so you pull up an artist, and sometimes the explicit albums aren't there...but if you search for a song name, if there's an explicit version of the song, there's usually an explicit version of the whole album.

So remind me again, why is $9.99/mo a better deal on Spotify, than $8.25/month for a Zune Pass?

My dad got Spotify because I got him an Android Tablet.
So is that it? Just that no one owns a WinPhone to make the Zune Pass worthwhile?

For less money, I get to keep music every month, and get unlimited Music Videos too.

I pay the fee to use the app on android. I don't have a windows phone, but if the services were equal I personally don't have any loyalty to Spotify.

Keeping songs doesn't really do anything for me. I can't even remember the last time I downloaded an mp3.

Keeping? You can download the songs from the Zune service? Is it a rental scenario?
I'm almost never without internet connectivity so I don't really care about local file storage (except when my spotify app is messing up )

And I'm not sure I'd define $1.75 as less money

+1

Can you create playlists with Zune? Is the music catalog as large?

^Yes you can, and they are shared in the community so if you're lazy like me you just follow a few people who religiously update them, or favorite any number of the curated playlists that are updated weekly.

And yes you get 10 songs a month DRM free to keep (though like you guys, I admittedly forget to use this a LOT). I just love it because it's instant-on music on my phone, pc and xbox. No syncing with a computer, no bullshit rights management, it just works.

Oh and speaking of playlists, the Smart DJ/Smart VJ options are amazing too, and now available on mobile/pc/xbox as well. Basically like the iTunes Genius functionality except with the entire catalog.

I'm sure the catalog isn't as big as iTunes, but other than Led Zeppelin and some Girl Talk mix tapes, I've never not found what I was looking for on Zune Pass.
