Did you guys hear? Russell Wilson is Wisconsin's Freshman Quarterback who has never played a season of College Football before this year.

He's awesome.

The difference, of course, being that Wilson has been asked to be a solid passer in pro-style offenses at both State and Wisconsin while Tebow was asked to run a spread.

The difference is important, Tebow still has another year or two before he will be comfortable in a pro offense (unless Denver starts running a wildcat), while Wilson will have a much shorter learning curve (assuming he gets drafted, of course).

That's a big assumption, unless you're referring to our neighbors up north.

I don't think it's THAT big of an assumption that he'll be drafted if he enters. If he falls to the 4-6 rounds then someone will grab him. Unfortunately who would be willing to do it that late is a crap shoot so he could wind up somewhere completely unsuitable (somewhere who looks at him and thinks Wildcat instead of a passing offense with a running dimension).

If he enters is, I think, still the big question. He's not Bo or Deion and it seems like the pro football game is less tolerant of two sport athletes now.

I think you missed my point (or maybe I wasn't clear enough) with my comparison to Tebow. I'm referring to being a media darling more than QB ability.

RW has more passing ability in his thumb than Tebow has in both of his magic cancer healing hands.

^^ He's just feeling the effect of Tebow spillover.

The media had 3 years of getting drunk off of Jesus Tebow. We're still in the hangover from that and they've decided that just one morning shot of Russell might help them get over it.

hmmm... I kinda murdered that metaphor.
