^^^These will all be in Wrigtsville or near there. Bluewater, Dockside, Fish House, South Beach, Oceanic, Tower 7 are all excellent restaurants.

Jims Guns, Backwater, Shooters Choice, and various pawn shops in the area are all good gun shops (Jims being the best).

^^Fish Bites is the jam! They always have kickass food and they bring out some incredible corn bread muffins. Also, most tourists don't know it exists which is a plus during the season

If you're living downtown be sure to check out chops deli, the basics, front street brewery, and the shuckin shack.

Other area favorites are Nikkis sushi, Stone Crab Co, PT's, Sweet N Savory, Islands (for $1 tacos), Surfhouse, Caseys BBQ, and plenty others im forgetting

Best seafood market is Seaview Crab Company

Best gun shop is Backwater Guns

Heading down to Wrightsville next weekend for a girls' weekend. So excited to get out of the frigid northeast - 50 degrees is going to feel balmy.

He's not dying, he's molting. The local news here are saying that he might have rabies so the dumbass tourists will leave him alone. To me, the seal looks happy but he does deserve to be left alone.

I saw him down at the Kure Beach pier last week. He's basically here to shed off his fur and grow his adult coat. Apparently seals can only do this on land. The police department named him Rufus

I'll be down in Wilmington tomorrow through Friday for our E&O Conference. Will be doing a lot of drinking during the evenings. Staying at the Hilton Riverside. Will likely head out to a bar somewhere tomorrow night to watch the game.

all of the above. plenty of TVs, great beer selection, decent drink specials, food is excellent, much better than your standard greasy bar food.

Yea, copper penny is one of the better sports bars downtown. Also nearby your hotel is cape fear beer and wine, which has some kickass beers. check out blue post as well

jackson's bbq is meh at best. very low on flavor most days. their sides just come out of buckets, cans, and the freezer. i was not impressed. it's right there with all the other used-to-be-great eastern nc bbq restaurants that have sold out and now serve up slop to the masses who still show up simply because of the name.

Mission has real smoked and pulled pork and they make their sides right there. the pork and brisket were very good without sauce, but their eastern nc sauce was excellent and they also had a really good selection of other sauces they make.

[Edited on April 15, 2014 at 7:54 PM. Reason : i will say jackson's has excellent stew]
