^I don't know, but all religion seems to have some sort of belief in an after life and that you need to avoid sin and do certain other things to get there, or something like that.

Jews perform circumcision, Catholics fast during Lent and don't believe in birth control, Baptist don't drink, Muslims don't eat pork and fast to dangerous levels during Ramadan, and Mormons abstain from caffeine.

If breaking these rules does send you to hell then I think everyone should break them, so they can go to hell with everyone else. I think Billy Joel was right, "The sinners are much more fun..."

Every girl at my catholic high school was on the pill before they got their driver's license. Regular catholics at the parish level are probably the most liberal of any religious sect I've seen. It's the bishops/cardinals/popes that still try enforcing these batshit rules.
