Do critics of this deal understand what the point of sanctions are? Hint: they are not supposed to stay in place forever. Sounds like the deal is much tougher on Iran than the fear mongering bullshit we head from Bibi and the GOP. 2/3s reduction in enrichment capability, very strict measures to make sure they aren't building a bomb. This is pretty historic, suck it haters.

does it still allow them to operate their underground facility without any kind of oversight, or was that removed from the deal?

Nah, that one basically has to shut down whatever it's doing and open its doors to inspectors. Again, it was all bullshit.

Quote :
"The giant underground enrichment site at Fordo — which Israeli and some American officials fear is impervious to bombing — will be partly converted to advanced nuclear research and the production of medical isotopes. Foreign scientists will be present. There will be no fissile material present that could be used to make a bomb."

Which country is next on the hit list? We must have war!

Neville Chamberlain references all over twitter. Everyone loves a good Nazi reference.

"Under the terms of the plan, Iran will suspend over two-thirds of its installed centrifuges and dilute or ship overseas its enriched uranium stocks. Iran has agreed to slash its centrifuges from 19,000 to 6,104 and not enrich uranium over 3.67 percent or build new facilities for enrichment for 15 years. It will, however, be able to continue “limited” research and development with advanced centrifuges."

" Experts estimate that while Iran will currently need 2 to 3 months to obtain enough fissile material to produce one nuclear weapon, under this agreement, that so-called “breakout timeline” will grow to at least one year for 10 years."

Why would Iran drop a bomb on tel aviv? That's not their style at all.

^^ that's the stupidest thing I have read today. The deal is actually going to set back their ability to make a bomb. Plus, even if they had a bomb right now, they wouldn't drop it on Israel, let alone the fact they wouldn't be able to even if they wanted to.

If Iran does build a bomb and they use it in a first strike manner, they're dead. It's simple as that. Iran doesn't posses enough nukes like US/Soviet Union for a MAD scenario.

You are assuming these extremists think/act rationally. Iran refused to even bargain on their stance that they desire to wipe Israel off the map.

Blowhard rhetoric aside, Iran and her religious leadership have been acting pretty rationally for a while now. Their acceptance of this deal is acknowledgement that there is a price to pay for their past irrational behavior. Iran gave up their entire industrial scale uranium enrichment infrastructure, their entire stockpiles of HEU and most of their LEU. Even the 1 year breakout time estimate assumes basically flawless execution of a process they've never actually taken that far. Once this deal goes into effect, the main Israeli and GOP bogeyman will be dead.

There's no evidence that suggest iran is run by irrational extremists. If anything, they're run by rational extremists, but I don't even think that's the case.

i can't wrap my brain around how anyone construes this as negative.

Obama could have it rain hookers, coke, and money, and someone would be pissed.

^ this is true for everything since 2008.

You will see it tommorow on the Sunday shows. You can only say you don't trust Obama and Iran with giving no reasons so many times before the host will just say what does the deal do? And the person for the deal can talk about the deal for the next 20 minutes.

I will wonder if anyone will call out the hypocrisy of saying this is just Iranian talk we don't know they will go through with it when they will in the next sentence cite Iranian talk about wiping Israel off the map and believe it 100% that they will follow through with it.

"“We are powerful enough to be able to test these propositions without putting ourselves at risk. And that’s the thing ... people don’t seem to understand,” the president said. “You take a country like Cuba. For us to test the possibility that engagement leads to a better outcome for the Cuban people, there aren’t that many risks for us. It’s a tiny little country. It’s not one that threatens our core security interests, and so [there’s no reason not] to test the proposition. And if it turns out that it doesn’t lead to better outcomes, we can adjust our policies. The same is true with respect to Iran, a larger country, a dangerous country, one that has engaged in activities that resulted in the death of U.S. citizens, but the truth of the matter is: Iran’s defense budget is $30 billion. Our defense budget is closer to $600 billion. Iran understands that they cannot fight us. ... You asked about an Obama doctrine. The doctrine is: We will engage, but we preserve all our capabilities.”"
