Yeah, two guys got like 11 ascendent energies and the other got 9 strange coins. Was hoping for armor/weapons but i'll take that and the advanced XP

Stayed in first room for cover, shot at boss with rockets/sniper until shrieker showed up. Kill it and wizard adds, then go back to hitting boss. Rinse and repeat.

I read a tip not to kill the Shrieker since he sends out one kill bolts when he dies. It also said if you wait out the Shrieker each time he spawns he will despawn after 20-30 seconds and so will the adds. Then you rush out and DPS Phogoth

Rinse and repeat.

I definitely want to beat this after a couple near misses last night with Huck and Whinocerous

Huck are you to the point where you are earning 200 Nightfall kills towards the pocket infinity exotic bounty or are you still collecting fusion rifles?


Also the reason we got kicked to orbit after you and Whino died at the same time is because I retreated back too far.

[Hallway with 2 Hallowed Knights] --> [Reset Room] --> [Safe Room] --> [Shrieker Room] --> [Phogoth Room]

Strat
1. As soon as door to Phogoth room opens do as much heavy DPS as possible before adds attack
2. Retreat to safe room
3. Never retreat to Reset Room
4. Engage bad guys from Safe Room until Shrieker spawns
5. Do not kill Shrieker. let him and bad guys despawn
6. Rush attack phogoth with heavy ammo
7. Repeat
8. ?
9. Profit

I suggest that we alternate players attacking Phogoth in step 6 while the other two stay in the safe room. This way may take longer but it will allow heavy ammo synthesis to be used multiple times. It has a 5 minute cool down.

I think it will come down to discipline in the end. I am guilty of wanting to rush to do the final bit of damage on a boss.

Yea, aftwr you kill him He sends out orbs that blow up if they hit you, but they rarely killed more than of us. Guess we didn't care to wait the 30 second for despawn. The main threat are the wizards that crowd into room towards the end of the encounter.

btw, if you guys ever see me(Brownbear) on and the character being used is a warlock...its my wife. You can still invite her to play, she just won't be using the microphone. I think shes a level 25.

Also, definitely wanting to try and get this raid in this weekend...friday, saturday and sunday night i'm free. Let me know if anyone wants to do it. I know a weekend can be tough because people have plans and stuff, so im not expecting it. But i really don't want to let another week go by without beating this asshole. Getting so close last time has boiled my blood to want to do it.

Sik TCBx1000 and i beat the Nightfall last night. I got an Exotic hand Cannon for it and Sik got a Legendary Heavy Engram

I also picked up the Pocket Infinity exotic bounty so I need 199 Fusion Rifle kills in Nightfall, so I am down to Nightfall again I guess.

Engram: Arm Armor

I'm really on the fence about the Suros at this point. I feel like excel in Nightfall/Weeklys/Raids with a more precise weapon like a pulse or scout rifle. I also see some of the exotic hand cannons wrecking face. There's so little standing out and emptying a clip into a bad guy in the high tier stuff, it helps to hit harder and with more precision than auto rifles can generally afford you.

i can't do precision guns on a console, my thumbs aren't agile enough

it's all well and good for PvE but i'd stand no chance with a handcannon or scout rifle in PvP

Literally minutes after finishing the exotic bounty for invective (shotgun), I got another exotic bounty. Going for the fusion rifle this time. Holy hell the steps look tedious.

Went ahead and bought The Armamentarium from Xur today. Halfway leveled up with it already. GIves 2 grenades and 130 discipline which makes the grenades regenerate fast as hell. Not sure if ill stick with it or go back to my exotic helmet. We shall see

realized i'm really torn on what to do about xur this weekend... i can't afford everything, but nothing looks super great. the suros regime is a gun i've wanted for a while, but its attack ratings (max 300) are the same as my legendary AR, and there's no elemental... so it doesn't seem like it'd be a huge boost. the armors are too focused on hand cannons, so i lose benefits there (the hand cannons are good, i just don't typically enjoy using them).

I have an Atheon HM checkpoint on PS4 if any warlocks want to cheese.

I picked up Suros, but for PVP. My legendary scout rifle is just too legit. I might dump the pulse rifle I kept though for PVP incase of an AR nerf.

One more coin and I can grab that exotic titan chest. Extra grenade seems handy, but my light level would drop significantly until I had a helm to replace Saint 14. Guess I should just save coins. :/
