WWE fired Test while he had a broken neck I think. They're too corporate to do that now, I can't remember anyone recently released that way.

The worst story I ever heard was Charlie Haas talking about him and Jackie Gayda had just got back from their honeymoon after getting married, John Laurinaitis calls him and says they're both wished well on their future endeavors. Jackie's crying in the background and Charlie said Laurinaitis felt that moment was right to make the joke "well, for richer or poorer right?"

"when was the last time Sabin was on TV semi-regular? on his last match he got injured, but that was awhile ago, and I believe he'd only been back a month or so after coming back from his injury before that; his style isn't something that lends itself to longevity; his tag partner Alex Shelley is wrestling in Ring of Honor I believe and New Japan, so he can't reform the Motor City Machineguns anyway"

Well yeah, Sabin wrecked his leg, he's doin rehab on it up in Michigan, but he'll make it back.

As far as his style, if he reigns it in like Mysterio has up here (and like Juventud has done in Mexico), he'll have as long a career as he wants. That said, yes, Shelley being gone hurts him. But it also hurts Shelley. Shelley is INCREDIBLY talented, and deserves to be in front of a TV audience.

Anyways, I think Sabin can be a solid X-div guy, and a good part of the midcard. Hey, it's gotta be better than that Zima Ion guy, right?

even when Shelley was still under contract to TNA before it expired, they never used him except for one month as Austin Aries' feud of the month during his long X Division title reign

he's working this coming weekend:

sure, but TNA misusing talent is nothing new Just ask Samoa Joe.

Man, i wish AAA or CMLL was on here. A lot of people have a hard-on for japanese wrestling, especially dave meltzer, but I've always loved Lucha more.

That said, if New Japan or NOAH was on tv here, I'd watch it.

I don't watch TNA very often, so it's easy to forget how fucking incredible a wrestler Samoa Joe is.

I went to that TNA show at the Downtown Amphitheater, and Joe outworked everyone on the card. He was awesome.

Bruno did very well for himself in this:

Quote :
"Sammartino approached this as a purely business decision, giving HHH a price that he thought would be turned down. In a number of conversations, he spoke of the deal as something he didn’t expect to happen. There was a long period before there was any answer from WWE, with him figuring that Vince McMahon likely nixed the deal due to price. The WWE could obviously afford the price, in line with what one of the company’s top stars would earn for a WrestleMania payoff."

i was impressed with many of Triple H's interviews regarding the Bruno deal. If/when the time comes that Triple H takes over WWE it seems like it will be in good hands.

I've been enjoying the last month of getting back into wrestling. I'm still dumbfounded by a few things (lack of legitimate Tag Team division, IC and USA champions being used as weekly jobbers for the high card stars, why the Big Show is still a main event star) but overall it's been fun.

Big Show being in main event comes and goes. He's had a long run that kinda hints this may be his last hurrah. He's been really effective at putting people over, though.

The tag division has been shit for years. As soon as a team gets traction, they break up. I like Rhodes Scholars (even though they just seemed thrown together), but it's only a matter of time before they split. There are no more road warriors, new age outlaws, or hell, even bushwackers.

But yeah, since he stepped away from the ring, HHH seems to put the business before himself, which is totally ironic given his backstage reputation during his heyday. He's way more in touch with the audience, and has seen wrestling at it's best and worst, than Vince is these days.

Rhodes Scholars split up (amicably) on Smackdown last week.

Yeah, I agree. If they were gonna do some more stuff with teams it'd be okay, but with Kane & Bryan clearly about to break up, all that's left aside from Rey/Sin Cara (who they forget about bi-weekly) are the jobber teams, and that's a waste of two talents.

Sandow should get solid promo time every week. He cracks me up constantly.

What's your opinion on Bray Wyatt?

I was kinda hoping Chris Hero would get called up for the Rumble... instead we got Wyatt. He just seems kinda bland so far.

You're thinking of Bo Dallas. Bray Wyatt is IRS's other son, the former Husky Harris.

I haven't watched a ton of FCW/NXT matches since they ended the Ambrose/Regal feud, so I don't know much about Bo. Seems like a pretty generic smaller guy right now, but his non-existent cowboy gimmick doesn't help. I'll reserve judgement until they give him something to work with.

yeah, Bo Dallas, my bad. Oddly enough, Bray Wyatt's brother... hah, IRS' other son.

I thought it looked like they were going to use a 123 Kid - Razor Ramon storyline, with Dallas getting a win over Barrett, but it looks like they're not giving that feud much tv time.

But man, I'm sick of cowboy gimmicks altogether. It's so... uninspired at this point.

No Taker, but another awesome segment by Heyman.

I could see Swagger's new gimmick with Dutch Mantel going somewhere interesting, or (more likely) somewhere fucking atrocious. I'm thinking something similar to the way they completely dropped the ball on Muhammad Hassan.

Looks like no hard feelings for Miz after he almost killed Punk on Saturday.

can anyone explain Khali? I know part of it is comic relief, but i cringe watching the guy. I feel like he's going to drop dead on the mat any night. And seeing his physique today compared to 6-8 years ago it's awful. I know he had a brain tumor or something, but he looks more like a stroke victim.

That cameraman in the opening segment did a great job of capturing CM Punk's eyes when he was hugging Heyman. Made me think a turn for either is in store.

The one benefit of three hour Raws is that they've been able to do really good 10-15 minute TV matches with the guys who can work. The Jericho/Bryan match was really good, and the Jericho/Punk match last week was awesome.

Doesn't hurt that you're talking about three of the best workers on earth, but I'm glad they're getting time to work on TV.

With Swagger's new pro-America gimmick is he more likely to get a feud against Del Rio or for the US against Cesaro? I can't see them pushing him all the way to WHC so soon after his return.

of all the people on WWE's main roster I think i'm starting to dislike Ryback the most. He's a terrible chemistry experiment of Goldberg dressed up in RVD's tights. I know the younger viewers love it but he's so one dimensional. I just hope the 6-man match is much more than a squash match. Would like to see the Shield actually come out strong before ultimately getting Cena'd.

"The Big Slow" is a pretty good wrestler considering his size. He gets a bad rap since his size requires him to have a methodical, plodding style. But compare Show to Khali or Mark Henry, and he's not half bad.

The other thing about Show is that he can't work stiff, because he'd kill somebody. I'm not a fan, but he's pretty good compared to other guys his size.

Miz is getting worse, and having to cut really shitty face promos isn't helping. Kudos to Cesaro for leading him through the right moves for second half psychology, though. Not a bad match.

I wish WWE would book more heels like Cesaro. I haven't seen a lot of wins where he acts as the chicken heel or has a manager that distracts for him, or is part of a stable that bails him out. He just flat out beats you.

they've been doing inpromptu PPV matches for awhile, and they always stick the women into a death slot on the card so the fans won't go into a big match cold

big match - fans love it
divas - fans come down, be quiet
big match - allright, the fans are ready to cheer again

Quote :
"Really didn't think Orton would win with the whole Real American/ ADR angle"

I just find it super sleazy. If they ran it in Mexico, yeah it would work and the fans would get hot (probably too well, fans down there sometimes stab the heels; I'd actually be more fine with that kind of build if it was building to a big match that took place in say Mexico City, because that'd get del Rio over as a babyface super huge), but everyone that watches here know it's just acting and it's nothing to get too upset about, Dutch and Swagger are playing roles.

Quote :
"Before the match we got a Jack Swagger & Zeb Colter interview. Apparently the story is that Colter and Swagger's father were in Vietnam together. Colter said he thinks Thomas Jefferson would be ashamed of the Louisiana Purchase because of what this has turned into. It really didn't get much heat, though Colter's promo work was very good. "

Plus, Wrestlemania is going to be in New York, home to the smarkiest of smarks that like to cheer for heels (like Ziggler) and not pay attention to storylines. I've always kind of liked Swagger and thought it was too bad he didn't have any charisma, but I don't think most fans feel that way about him.

That said, del Rio and Swagger both come from high-level amateur wrestling backgrounds and it should be a good technical match. But it's gonna get bogged down in this "Mexicans coming into the U.S." bullcrap that's going to take down a world title match into just something on the midcard.

I think it's fine and interesting as a pro wrestling angle in general.

I think Vince McMahon is going to hammer the cheap end of it, and we'll end up with an interesting proposition turned into a bottom-feeding hackfest, just like we did with Mohammad Hassan.
