My parents live in Edenton and are friends with Bob. They talk about how nice he is. When I bring this stuff up they usually just want to change the subject. I've given up talking politics with my family, but don't bring up your buddy Bob and expect me not to mention how he wants to override the election because his (and almost certainly their) candidate didn't win. If Obama or Hilary had done this it would have been the worst thing ever and Bob would have been up in arms over it.

It’s a strategy I really don’t get. Trump lost. By quite a lot. In an election where the GOP did pretty decent otherwise. He was historically unpopular. And these winning GOP politicians are still hitching their wagon to the loser. I’m no political strategist but that doesn’t make a ton of sense to me.

It's because they actually believe that Trump's poor approval rating is because the press and the elites unfairly treat Trump and if Americans knew the real Trump that they know, then that they'd see that while Trump may have some brutish tendencies, he really does love America more than anybody else alive era (except maybe Lincoln), and then his approval ratings would be 90%+ because of course everybody would love Trump if only those bastards weren't such radical antifas.
