The republicans are probably going to require mandatory drug testing before you can do free labor community service for free to the community. . . .you will probably have to pay for the drug test too.

AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Guy gets a 6 hour trial and is ultimately found guilty and ordered to pay $100 fine. I would say the district attorney might want to rethink trying these. Each 6 hour trial is holding up a courtroom, judge, prosecutor, court recorder, and bailiff for a full day....THOUSANDS in facilities and payroll costs. . . . and the fine is only $100. What makes it even funnier is the guy is going to appeal the conviction and waste more resources.

THERE ARE 940 MORE CASES

From someone heavily involved in the protests, the plan by those doing the community service is to spend it registering people to vote.

The GOLO comments on this are, as always, priceless. They basically want the protestors placed in stockades and on display in front of the Capitol.

I'm glad that we are violating first amendment rights to fine people $100 while spending $6,000 to do so. Merica, fuck yeh!

^^ Where were you for the last two weeks. Last Tuesday they occupied Thom Tillis' office and were arrested. Yesterday they staged a sit-in at McCrory's office and were cited and released. The broader Moral Monday rallies are also still occurring.

Sorry, nothing on the news about it. Must not have been radical enough or had sufficient societal impact to make headlines.

It's been in the news. Just not as much as last year.
