They do most current movies that are in demand, unless it's some stupid shit. They also do things like quote alongs to classics like Big Lebowski and what not. Bunch of other cool shit.

do you people have really sensitive eyes? or do you just happen to go to the movies where people hold their phones up in the air to send text messages?

I need to check out this place in Austin. Been planning on doing it but just keep putting it off.

also, I don't think I've ever been so intently focused on a movie in the theater that a cell phone screen distracted my eye sight enough from paying attention, especially enough that I was angry at someone texting. I'm sure 95% of you people text and drive. it's the same fucking thing. I can understand talking on the phone being annoying as fuck though.

Air Sex and Quote Alongs sound very stupid and Alamo did an AMA on reddit the other day that also kind of lowered my opinion of them a bit
http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/1fcivo/i_kick_people_out_of_my_alamo_drafthouse_movie/

but other that that, seems cool

On that note, in case it wasn't already clear this thread was a fraud:

Do you have any plans to expand the chain to Southeastern markets like Atlanta, Charlotte, Raleigh or smaller markets such as Greenville, SC or Asheville, NC?

Maybe air sex is some thing you have to see before making judgment but that sounds incredibly dumb and awkward

never seen air sex, but it seems like it could be decent if it was some hot chick, booty shaking and moaning and stuff, but i dont think i'd find any entertainment if it was a male participant

certainly not enough entertainment to make plans to go to a show

Apparently, there is an air sex world championship. It doesn't look like there are a lot of hot chicks booty shaking and moaning and stuff:

air sex is basically improv acting that can be very entertaining. Some people are very talented at developing a funny story line and what not and it is worth a laugh. Others that just go up there and gyrate with a cucumber or something end up embarrassing themselves.

So how do they enforce the ban on cellphones? Do they have someone monitoring each theater and will take it from you? Do you get frisked on the way in?

Cool, go down there late at night after a movie and let me know how it goes. Always seems like a ghetto as fuck area, and I have stopped at that Cook Out on numerous occasions.

[Edited on May 16, 2017 at 12:46 PM. Reason : I think its gonna be as bad as Blueridge 14]

used to live in Longview before moving to Mordecai. have a bunch of friends who still live in Longview (some who even post on this here website)

if you're afraid of black people, you may find it sketchy.

if you aren't afraid of black people, it's a nice historic neighborhood on the come up.

Blueridge isn't sketch, but Blueridge was (maybe still is?) bad for getting your car broken into and possibly getting robbed.

And I know some (former) TWW users that lived in Longview as well. Longview isn't that bad, but New Bern and south of there has not had a good reputation. To be honest most of my experience in that area was several years ago so maybe it has changed for the better. I hang in Durham quite a bit, so I'm not scared by black people.

^True, it will raise property values and probably gentrify the neighborhood some more.

[Edited on May 16, 2017 at 1:47 PM. Reason : JCE? Yea right.]

I'm excited about this, not excited about the idea if leaving my car in the parking lot there. Hope they have security so it isn't as bad as blueridge before they added cops to patrol

Anyways, this makes me wonder. How are there no movie theaters adjacent to campus?

Seems like a straightforward business decision, you have thousands of college students right there. I guess everyone could drive, but like Cary has so many, why not drop one over here?

[Edited on April 8, 2024 at 8:31 AM. Reason : and yes, I know about Mission Valley Cinema... but why'd that fail?]
