Have a 77 Bronco looking to have the transmission rebuilt. Any recommendations. Was told to stay away from Cottman?

I was very happy with a manual transmission rebuilt from Trans Medics.

What Ragged said. If it's an automatic.

Manuals are far easier. I've done probably close to a dozen.

would rose and sons do any mods to it ?

I have a 150k AOD that's gonna need some work soon... but i'd like it to hold up to towing a little better.

If it is a mod that will improve driveability, longevity, etc than not only is a good transmission shop going to be interested in doing it, they will probably do it if you ask them to or not.

Mods usually are at risk for lesser of a warranty. I don't build transmissions so I could be wrong

[Edited on July 1, 2013 at 5:18 PM. Reason : Dan you ain't interested in rebuilding a t5 are you]

rose gets a big thumbs down in my book, twice. Once for transmission replacement, once for diagnoses.

griffin did ok, but only experience is with transmission and axle service.
