I figured the diesel nuts would love this build:

Quote :
"Relative's GTO with a 6.2L Duramax and Allison transmission, 4WD. 722-980hp/1500-1900lb-ft. Complete custom build by himself, he's had the car since he was young and got bored with the torch and welder one day, and two years later, this emerges. The engine/trans and every single part is brand new. The build looks GM factory and there's over 12k in paint/prep alone. Special built axles and carriers to handle the torque, one-off wheels to fit the custom hubs/pattern. Updated interior from 06' GTO. Nasty"

The wheels are meant for a truck, notice the 6 lug and offset

and that's one heavy ass engine

but I guess having all that hp and torque would make up for it

If we're nitpicking I don't like the sill extensions/air dam or the sidepipes either and why'd he paint the bumpers?

Overall, though, extremely cool. Wonder what kind of times it's capable of at the strip?

Owner thinks 8s on slicks. The guy also supposedly has 6 orders to build it for other people.

looking at the green car in the OP, and the original thread... "6.2 Duramax" .... and the intake filters....

$20 bucks says its an old NA 6.2 diesel, not the 6.6L turbo duramax of any sort.

4wd? Come on. with an Allison. That thing would have to be on a truck chassis, with a T-case and all the suspension to fit

As an eternal skeptic, I need more pics!

I was trying to figure that out too... I was thinking maybe a 2 stroke blower car or something but those spec and that engine don't seem right

Hot Rod magazine is supposedly doing a feature on him and the car. I guess if you wanted to you could get all the tech specs on the car that you want. Just contact the relative on S2ki.com

that's a lot of power from a 6.2. judging by the duel fueler my guess is it's a true Dmax.

yeah, i have to agree just because of the 6-lug 1/2 ton truck axles that the body is sitting on a 1500 chassis.

That's explain the ride height. Plus I'd think custom designing an AWD setup for a car that old would be a bitch and a half.
