^ Not in my experience...I actually find it to be less resource intensive than XP and Vista. For W7 I think memory usage is driven more by application usage, as opposed to OS...1.5GB would be fine for basic usage such as internet + office.] 1/27/2014 9:01:29 PM |

For like $10 I'll up them to 3gb. Also it turns out several are Core 2 Duo T7100's and have Bluetooth plus a better video card. +10 for those few. 1/27/2014 9:05:28 PM |

I had an M285 as a work laptop back in '08. Nice machines actually, Gateway was putting out a pretty competetive product in those days in their business-oriented line.
Still like convertible tablets even though they seem to be hard to find these days. 1/28/2014 9:22:35 AM |

Undead Electronics. We'rein Mission Valley, directly behind Sammy's from the road and a few doors down from Ruckus and Cloo's.
wdprice3: The Laserjet 3300mfp has USB, an inexpensive wifi print server would make it fit the bill perfectly.

Been getting a lot of interest, but still have it so far. Though I usually interpret "ask the significant other" as "not happening". 2/2/2014 12:34:52 AM |

Looks like that model of Vizio plasma was introduced in 2008. How old is it and can you guesstimate how much life it has left? 2/2/2014 11:09:05 AM |

is it a refurb or some such ? or just old 2/2/2014 1:13:53 PM |

llama: '08 sounds about right. The original power supply used Chinese capacitors that are prone to failure, which I replaced with quality Japanese ones. I'd say it has enough life left that new technology will make you want to upgrade long before it dies.
ssclark: I got it with a cracked screen and dead battery. Laptop batteries only last so long depending on usage but are inexpensive to replace. I put in a new screen and new battery. Also took it apart and cleaned out all the internals, redid the heatsink with Arctic Silver, and tightened all the screws (especially around the hinges). Definitely "refurbished", but will run cooler and better than it did new from the factory. 2/5/2014 1:29:24 AM |
