Long time lurker here. It looks like after a decade at NCSU, I will finally be graduating (for the last time). I'm going to be moving to Boston in May or June and I would love any tips that TWW has to share. The wife will be a resident at Tufts medical center (in chinatown) and I will be working in the Longwood area (near Children's hospital). We got hooked up with a real estate agent through her residency program, so hopefully that will make apartment hunting less stressful. We are looking to be centrally located between Longwood and Tufts, but since she has to be at the hospital at 5am some days, we'd like to be closer to Tufts if possible. And yes, we are expecting to pay through the nose for a 600sqft apartment in this area.

Our plan is to pack up a POD at our current place and have it shipped to Boston. We'll be selling both of our cars and flying up there once our current lease is up. She will most likely need a car at some point, but I'm planning to rely on mass transit/walking/biking to get around town.

Does anyone have any tips or tricks for relocating to Boston? Is there anything in particular we should be aware of? Fun stuff we should be sure to do when we live there?
