I’d make a bet with someone that before the election Twitter is going to have to put a content warning on trump’s twitter account or issuing a temporary suspension.

I see the right is trying to use Dayton as a both-sides cudgel despite the fact there is no evidence his political leanings contributed one bit to the act, unlike El Paso.

The congressional (Scalise) shooter was a partisan ideological driven event. Dayton wasn’t.

Far right violence is an actual thing that needs to be addressed. Unless we took a time machine back to the 70s, far left violence is not.

I mean in the past decade or so we've had Sarah Palin blamed for an insane man with no discernible politics and the GOP blamed for an ISIS supporter shooting up a gay bar, so you'll have to excuse me if I suspect some of you aren't approaching this complicated issue in "good faith"

lol the Orlando shooting was blamed on homophobia and bigotry (incorrectly), but that's an attack on the GOP since that's their platform

She gets hammered for the Dayton shooter being her supporter:

Here are the facts on him; he was a bonafide leftist, and extreme leftist:

If you don't have the critical thinking skills to understand why a hard right tabloid painting someone as hard left requires additional scrutiny, I'm not sure I can help.

What a silly criticism. Why is it my responsibility to hold CNN to task unless I choose to? I'm not even saying the overall point is incorrect or not, maybe he was leftist, I'm just saying I am not going to be convinced by the source oep used. The examiners isn't hard right just bc they published that column, nobody ever came close to making that claim.

If you have issues with CNN or mainstream media coverage, discuss them, but don't imply that others are having that conversation.

Trump Supporter with Loaded Pistol, Knife Arrested Outside El Paso Immigrant Center
https://www.democracynow.org/2019/8/8/headlines/trump_supporter_with_loaded_pistol_knife_arrested_outside_el_paso_immigrant_center

Quote :
"Meanwhile, El Paso police arrested a Trump supporter Wednesday as he sat outside an organizing space for immigrant activists, wearing blue latex gloves and brandishing a knife. Organizers with Casa Carmelita say police also recovered a loaded gun, ammunition and a bag of white powder from the man’s truck, which sported a large banner portraying Donald Trump as Rambo and bumper stickers for the far-right conspiracy website InfoWars. The man appears to be 21-year-old Thomas Bartram, who was profiled earlier on Wednesday by the Washington Examiner. Bartram told the paper he was an “open-carry kind of guy” at political rallies; a photo accompanying the article shows Bartram making what appears to be a white nationalist hand gesture."

So apparently almost half the people at the chicken plant were citizens. Another further are likely legal residents. They demonized an entire factory of brown people just to get a minority of workers that were undocumented.

This is white supremacy.

"the FBI that assassinated MLK was a different organization!"

https://tyt.com/stories/4vZLCHuQrYE4uKagy0oyMA/mnzAKMpdtiZ7AcYLd5cRR

Quote :
"Under President Trump, the FBI’s official counterterrorism priorities have included “Black Identity Extremists,” “anti-authority” extremists, and “animal rights/environmental extremists,” according to leaked Bureau documents obtained exclusively by The Young Turks. The documents, many of which are marked “Law Enforcement Sensitive” and “For Official Use Only,” also reference a mysterious plan to mitigate the threat of “Black Identity Extremists” with a program codenamed “IRON FIST” involving the use of undercover agents.

Each fiscal year, the FBI headquarters updates its Consolidated Strategy Guide, which lists the Bureau’s priorities in numerous domains such as counterterrorism, counterintelligence, and cyber crime. When an August 2017 internal FBI report referencing the counterterrorism threat posed by “Black Identity Extremists” was published by Foreign Policy, the FBI became the subject of intense criticism for adopting what critics alleged was a racially loaded term.

What was not publicly known, however, was that not only had the FBI adopted the term; it specifically listed it as a top counterterrorism priority in its 2018 strategy guide, referring to the group as a “priority domestic terrorism target,” and even established a program to counteract the supposed threat.

While the documents depict concerns about violent black extremist attacks, they do not cite a single specific attack — unlike white supremacist attacks, of which several prominent examples are provided.

Furthermore, although the FBI last month reportedly assured Senate Democrats that it had dropped the term “Black Identity Extremist” in favor of one that isn’t race-specific, the documents suggest that this was misleading. Despite changing the name, the Bureau retained much of the original definition and still targeted black people.

So grave did the Bureau consider the threat of black extremists that from 2019 to 2020, using new designations, it listed the threat at the very top of its counterterrorism priorities — above even terror groups like Al Qaeda."

I wonder if, given Director Wray’s congressional hearing a few weeks ago, the FBI has made a more concerted effort to track and apprehend these people?

White supremacy is, far and away, the most dangerous terrorism problem facing this country. I’d argue it’s the biggest national security concern, period, right now. If ISIS was doing this Trump would have tanks on the streets by this point.
