Anyone playing this? Picked it up on a whim over the weekend after reading several positive reviews.

And...?

Are you going to tell us what YOU thought?

I've been thinking about getting it but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I've only dabbled with the character creation screen so far, been a busy week. So I'd hesitate to put my weighty stamp of approval on it at this juncture.

This game is awesome

I'm in the last area right now so I'm probably 10 hours or so away from finishing it and it's fantastic. The story isn't anything spectacular and it's pretty generic but it doesn't take itself too seriously and has some good humor. And it's some of the best tactical combat I've ever seen. Combat is often something you just have to get through in RPGs but it's easily the standout here.

Only problems I have is there is often excessive backtracking, some of the puzzles are just pixel hunts with little in the way of direction, and the inventory system needs a lot of work. Overall I'd give it a 9 out of 10.

There's a re-release tomorrow. Updated story for the PC and console release for XBone and PS4.

Have it on my Gamefly queue to see how this plays on a console. I have a feeling it'll translate pretty well.

I want to replay this and Wasteland 2 since they both have done re-releases recently. Lots of cool changes in both games and I loved them both. Don't know if I can find the 300 hours I would need though.

The sequel is out and it's about 5 times as good as the first. Story is way better and the characters FAR more interesting. The first one your party was 2 blank slate custom characters and some inoffensive hirelings. In this one you can create a custom character if you want but there are 6 pre-made characters with unique dialogue lines, personalities, stories, and quest chains. You can play as one of these characters and any you don't play are available to be your companion.

Bumping this thread. Ive been playing DOS2 and I highly recommend this for baldur’s gate / icewind dale lovers. One of the best RPG experiences i’ve had in years.

The turn-based combat takes a bit to get used to, but creates an extra layer of strategy that os very fun

Better news for us lovers of BG and D:OS is that Larian, the creators of D:OS, is developing BG3

I’m a little bit into my second multiplayer play through of divinity 2 with some of my good friends, been a great quarantine activity. First go through I did pure pyro with the lizard, this time I’m dual wielding daggers with a dodging rouge dwarf. We pivoted to this from d&d on roll20 with one of my friends as an inexperienced DM
